Another positive step forward for Slay today as Glasgow Licensing Board approved our licensing variation and all proposed changes to the venue.
The changes will give us greater flexibility to support promoters, artists and customers while continuing to develop Slay as one of Glasgow's leading grassroots music venues.
Key changes include:
• Age restrictions can now be tailored to events, allowing us to offer 14+ shows (under 16s accompanied by an adult), 16+ events and 18+ events.
• Earlier bar opening hours, with bars now able to open from 5pm Monday–Thursday and 12 noon Friday–Sunday.
• Approved layout plan changes that will improve customer flow throughout the venue and enhance the experience for both audiences and artists.
• The addition of sporting events and markets to our permitted activities, helping us diversify how the venue is used.
• Improvements to our accessibility offering, allowing us to better support customers with additional access requirements.
As we continue investing in Slay following our recent purchase of the building, these changes form an important part of our long-term vision for the venue and the wider grassroots music community in Glasgow.
A huge thank you to Music Venue Trust for their support throughout the process, Audrey Junner and the team at Miller Samuel Hill Brown for their guidance and excellent submission and to Glasgow Licensing Board for supporting our plans for the future.
Finally, thank you to all of our loyal promoters, artists, DJs and customers who have supported us since we first opened our doors. Your continued support allows us to keep doing what we love and to continue investing in the future of grassroots music in Glasgow.
We're excited for what's next.
