As another incredible school year comes to a close, we are taking a moment to reflect on what has been one of the school’s most exciting, rewarding and successful years.

Musical Theatre Success
Our Musical Theatre department delivered an outstanding 16 performances across three full-scale productions, showcasing the incredible dedication and talent of our young performers.

Early Stages Shine Bright
Our youngest performers took centre stage with Little Clowns, Big Debut, an original production written and produced in-house by the Vivace team. Inspired by the circus, the show was filled with colour, imagination and confidence.

Acting Achievements
Our acting students enjoyed a fantastic year, culminating in participation in the Act 26 Festival, where they performed an impressive seven performances in one weekend at the Boardwalk Theatre.

Dance Highlights
The Dance Department continued to flourish with preparations and performances for our spectacular 2026 production, ICONS, celebrating some of the greatest music legends of all time.

Examination Success
Alongside their performances, our students worked incredibly hard towards their examinations, achieving success across all disciplines:

Giving Back to the Community
This year, our annual Christmas Jumper Appeal raised an incredible £1,000+ for vulnerable children through the Glasgow's Spirit of Christmas charity.

Special Performance Opportunities
We were delighted to be invited to perform at some exciting events such including Berlinky's Musical Madness Day and ABBA by Candlelight.

Award-Winning Excellence
This year also brought another major milestone for Vivace Theatre School as we proudly received the E2 Media Award of Excellence 2026 for Best Theatre School.

Educational Trips and Experiences
Learning extends beyond the studio, and our students enjoyed a variety of exciting experiences throughout the year, with trips to Scottish Ballet, the circus and Level X!

We can't wait to see what next year brings for Vivace Theatre School!

SUMMER HOLIDAY TIME- last day of term!!!

Today (Wednesday 17th June) marks the end of the 2025/26 Vivace Theatre School year.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all of our wonderful students and their families for your continued support, enthusiasm and commitment throughout the year.
We wish you all a relaxing, enjoyable and well-deserved summer break, and we look forward to welcoming you back for another exciting year at Vivace.

After months of hard work our amazing Early Stages students took to the stage this weekend for the world premiere of “Little Clown’s Big Debut.”

A huge thank you to all the parents and grown ups behind the scenes who have been helping our circus troop get ready for show day and for being the most incredible audiences. One of the highlights of the weekend was seeing all of you mouthing the lines and singing and dancing along in your seats. The best fans our students could ever ask for!

It was a wonderful weekend and so many special memories were made. We couldn’t be prouder of every single one of our tiny superstars!

The casting process is new to many parents of young performers. Figuring out how this world works and navigating it to help support your child and their dreams can be a steep learning curve, but don’t worry – we’re here to help make that journey as smooth as possible!

Firstly you need to find yourself a good agent. A casting agency should never charge you for joining. They should make their money in commission when they find you work. Beware of any agencies charging inflated costs for headshots, modelling portfolios or workshops. At Vivace Theatre School our in-house casting agency provides free representation and headshots for all of our students who wish to be part of it.

When looking for young performers Casting Directors inform their agency contacts by sending out the ‘brief’. This details the look, age and skills that they are seeking for the specific role. The agent will then contact all who fit that brief to find out if they are interested in the opportunity. They’ll forward the headshots of those who are interested to the Casting Director who then makes their selection.

Depending on the job and its demands the Casting Director may ask those they feel have the right ‘look’ to do a self tape (short taped audition), attend a casting session (in person filmed audition) or may skip these steps and jump straight to penciling or booking the child.

For important roles you may be recalled and sometimes more than once.

Usually agents do not hear if you have not been selected and feedback after auditions is very rare in the industry - even for children’s auditions. Its the old ‘Don’t call us we’ll call you’ disposition. This is simply due to the volume of people seen for each job (there is no shortage of young people keen to be on screen!) and the quick turnaround time for Casting Directors to meet the needs of specific productions.

It can be a frustrating process if you are applying for work but not making the short list or past the audition phase but have faith and do stick at it. You truly never know what may be around the corner!

At Vivace Theatre School we have a diverse student body. Some are focussed on a career in the Performing Arts while for others theatre school is simply a much loved hobby. We aim to provide space for all. Through our casting agency we work hard to create opportunities but there is never any pressure to get involved. For us it’s about choice for our students and families.

Well done to our Musical Theatre students who auditioned this week!
Over three days, we saw eight classes showcase their hard work, talent, and commitment. Auditions can be challenging, but every student gave it their all and should be incredibly proud of what they achieved.
Thank you to everyone who took part, it was wonderful to see so much enthusiasm and dedication on display.

Our Senior Musical Theatre students enjoyed a social event at Level X last night. There was bowling, golf, and arcade games, along with an opportunity for students from all four senior classes to get together, socialise, and spend time with one another outside of classes and rehearsals.

T3 Dance Show term 2026… and what a term it’s been! We are officially wrapping up and we couldn’t let the summer holidays start without giving a massive shout out to every single one of our incredible T3 Dancers!

This term brought us our most ICONIC Dance show yet and the talent and hard work on that stage were unmatched. To our T3 Dance course students - this was absolutely the strongest showcase we have ever seen from you all! Your growth, technique and performances on the stage blew us all away… and the entire T3 Dance team could not be prouder of how hard you’ve all worked.

With so many studios offering dance classes how do you select the right one for your child? Well there are a number of factors to consider…

Some studios will focus on dance as a recreational activity while others may have a more career preparation approach. Some may have a busy schedule of competitions and performances and others may offer examinations and grades.

All of these can be beneficial. Competitive studios can offer a super experience of team building and self assessing. Those who offer exams can provide a good technical foundation and clear pathway for progress. Those who are performance orientated can be a great way to build a childs self confidence and self esteem whilst creative leisure classes are no pressure fun and enjoyment.

Here are some points for consideration…

1. Its important to know what you want to get out of a class. Is it for enjoyment, fitness, creativity? You should get a sense of a studios priorities from perusing their website and social channels.
2. What styles of dance are taught and what opportunities does the studio offer to its students?
3. With consistency being key to any childs success in a class, make sure the times and location fit well with family life.
4. Always look out for info on tutor qualifications and child protection policies. A reputable studio will ensure these are easy to find on their website. Even if you are starting a leisure class good safe technique is still essential.

Once you find a studio you feel fits with your needs find out if they offer an opportunity to visit or trial a class. Most are keen to do this and it will allow you to get a real feel for it and ask any questions you may have.
