Student Theatre at Glasgow - STAG Glasgow's premiere student theatre society, based at Southpark House, University of Glasgow.

We are a society dedicated to producing stage plays, which are acted, directed, and managed by students of Glasgow regardless of University. We strive to produce interesting and entertaining theatre whilst providing a lively social network of like minded people. To begin each academic year, we hold the ‘New Talent Nights’ specifically aimed at getting members new to the society involved. Throughou

t the year we put on small and large scale shows, welcoming classic texts as well as warmly encouraging new-writing. STAG also hosts two festivals: ‘STAG Nights’ aimed at celebrating a hot-bed of new student theatrical talent with an array of artistic endeavours; and the ‘New Works Festival’ which showcases exciting and original theatre, the best of which goes on to perform at the following Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Since the question of fringe was brought up several times during our AGM and elections, the board has taken the decision to send out an anonymous form to get an idea of how the membership feel about continuing/not continuing with fringe. This form is for you to express your opinion on whether STAG should continue or not with Fringe and will be used to inform the decision making of both the old and new board during our calandar meeting on Monday the 29th April.

Please note that outcome of this form will not effect the run of our fringe show this year “Lads of the Flies”.

We are very excited to announce that the show selected by our judges this year to represent STAG at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2024 is ‘Lads of the Flies’ written and directed by Grace Donaldson and assistant directed by Sophie Gattis!

A huge congratulations to everyone involved in ‘Lads of the Flies’ and those involved throughout the whole festival. Well done to the other plays in consideration for the Fringe - the quality of productions throughout the festival were outstanding this year. And a massive thank you to this year’s judges for their contributions.
