Having fun with Nkosi Sikelel' iAfrika. Always an uplifting song to sing at the end of a rehearsal.
We're gearing up for the concert on 28th at The Pyramid in Anderston at 7:30pm. Join us there and be part of the music making.

In a world that seems increasingly dominated by strife, division and hostility, can singing each other's songs bring people together?

Join Glasgow's world music community choir for a feast of unaccompanied singing from around the world.

Our summer concert is once again part of Westfest. This time, after 13 years at the Kibble Palace, it's a new venue, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝘆𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻, 759 Argyle St G3 8DS

No need to book a ticket, join us on the night and make a donation to our partner charity Refuweegee (number SC046843), a community-led charity that gives people a way to welcome and embrace those newest to arrive. We're delighted to have another chance to raise some funds for this very worth cause, in cash or electronically on the night.

Even if you can't be there, you can donate online via JustGiving (link coming soon)

We’re busy preparing for our summer concert on 28th June at the Pyramid in Glasgow at 7:30pm. Entrance is free and we will be raising funds for Glasgow charity Refuweegee, supporting migrants in the city. After all, as our multi-national members know, ‘We’re all Frae somewhere’

We always love a new song, and this German celebration of spring was sent to us recently by a member whose work as a sailor has taken her far away from us – for now. She sent us a video of her singing it on the high seas, so here is our first attempt at learning it last night. Thanks Ella!

Our sopranos rose to the challenge on Monday when we added the last part to our new song from the Torres Straits, arranged by our own Eleanor.

We had a fantastic Voicebeat weekend away at Wiston Lodge near Biggar last weekend. It was a glorious setting for lots of singing and getting to know each other's hidden talents. Who could forget Carole's jazz piano or Harry's Elvis impersonation? We self-catered and had a real gourmet weekend too as everyone pitched in to help.

I think we'd need a full costume department to pull this one off! I'm game for a try 😁

Voicebeat was in fine form last night after our AGM, working together in true collaborative style to keep the show on the road when leader, Harry, needed to join remotely via Zoom.
Alan lead an initial warm up, while Fiona, Eleanor and Heloise practised their choir leader skills teaching us some new songs. In the background our tech team, Ali and Ella battled the Zoom gremlins to keep us connected. Thanks to everyone who stepped up and enabled us to continue with the AGM and then enjoy singing together. This was such a wonderful community effort, and Harry’s recent workshops in choir leadership are already bearing fruit, helping us to become a more resilient community.
