⚠️ Travelling soon? There is an important change to how travellers entering or leaving South Africa complete their Customs declaration.

From 1 July 2026, most travellers are required to complete the SARS Online Traveller Declaration before travelling.

The good news is that this is not a new legal requirement. Travellers have always been required to declare certain goods and currency. The main change is that the declaration is now completed online instead of on the paper forms previously issued during your journey.
