The display of art and craft at West Moss-side/Trossachs Yurts for 'Long Light, Deep Roots' this weekend 20th-21st June is all about connections with the landscape and the natural world. Colours, textures and themes are echoed and repeated in contrasting materials and techniques between my own silk and cashmere scarves and paper weaving, Graham Tristram's artwork and Kate Sankey's willow baskets and bark woven vessels, creating an exhibition that is full of natural materials, repetition and variety. I can't wait to show everyone! This is just one of two beautiful nearby venues for this busy event, with 7 artists, demonstrations, workshops, bee talks and nature walks. This weekend 20th -21st June I am really excited to have another opportunity to show the collaborative project 'Print & Weave', which I made with eco printing expert Elisabeth Vigue-Culshaw. It will be on display alongside my scarves during a group exhibition 'Long Light, Deep Roots' at West Moss-side/Trossachs Yurts near Thornhill. Come and watch paper weaving demonstrations and make some yourself during the workshop. Kate Sankey will be demonstrating bark weaving using similar processes, which will be interesting to compare. With 7 artists taking part in the event there will be lots of beautiful art and craft to see inspired by the natural world across two nearby venues, as well talks about wild bees and nature walks. For more info about the event see: https://www.westmossside.com/long-light-deep-roots/

Whiling away a wet weekend winding a warp onto my loom.😆 Setting up the loom is such a slow process it helps if you absolutely love the materials even before you start weaving! It is amazing how different the colours look when the threads are jumbled up in a chain compared with spread out under tension on the loom.
