CALLING ACTORS - PAID POSITIONS AVAILABLE for “The Tartan Army” going Over the Top. After 28 years.
TRAM Direct will be touring during April, May and June with the above production. We are now seeking actors who can sing. Paid position. Must be available for during the day rehearsals on a Friday, Sat and Sunday plus some evenings.
Character descriptions and playing age. (four each male and female)
MALES (all have boisterous personalities with great sense of humour)
Tam the “Bam” Mullen - playing age 30 -50 Glaswegian. Married to Valerie. Has two children. Supports Partick Thistle. Bit of a character.
Rab (Robbie) - playing age 25 to 35. From the Highlands so has an accent. Is much more polite than the others and considers himself an intellectual. In a longtime relationship with Morag.
Davie Bell - playing age 35-40. An Accountant married with two children to with his wife Cathy. Overweight, supports Rangers. Glaswegian.
Shug (Slugger) Sweeney - playing age 60 to 70. Supports Celtic. Boxer when younger. An avid film supporter
FEMALES (long suffering wives and partners to the troops.) All have great strong personalities with lots of humour. Support each other. Must have a good singing voice. Two double up as Russians
Christy Wok - playing age 25 to 45. Journalist and T.V. interviewer. Well up on politics and heritage of both Scotland and England. Not a great fan on the Tartan Army. Polite spoken and slightly condescending when addressing the troops.
Cathy - playing age 30-50. Married to Davie with two children. No push over. Glaswegian. Can be a bit rough and ready but knows how to tame it when required.
Valerie - playing age 25-45. Knows how to handle her man. Great sense of humour. Rough and ready.
Morag playing age 20 -30 Bit more refined than the others but no push over. Has been in a long-term relationship with Robbie for some time.
