I am a jewellery and lampwork artist living in the west of Scotland. I am originally from Norfolk, both of these places influence my work. I would like to think that my work has a certain amount of humour and fun, having two small children means that I spend a great deal of time laughing at the things they say, the things they do, the stuff they watch (kids movies are so much better than the grown up ones) that coupled with a nonsensical sense of humour shared with my husband sometimes leads to me making some very strange things. My little girl is 10 so I also have the influence of pretty girly stuff too :) like my fairy beads, I think they are amongst some of the beads I am most proud of. I am constantly thankful for the support of my husband (who never complains that the house has been overcome by glass) the chance to work for myself and the network of friends I have built up throughout my learning experience. I don’t think that the feeling of being at the tip of the learning iceberg will ever leave me, every corner I turn there is something new and magical to learn about glass or metal, its all consuming, fascinating and always exciting. I think the one thing I am most thankful is that there are people out there that like my work enough to want to own it.
