Restoration of an antique handcaned armchair. This cute little chair was a family heirloom much loved by its owner who was devastated to see the extensive damage done to the frame when the back was upholstered at some point in the past. We managed to disguise most of the staple marks and repolish the back. Then we recaned the chair bringing it back to its former glory. The owner was very emotional when she got it back (and so were we). Jobs like this make all our hard work worthwhile ❤️🪑❤️

Full restoration of a beautiful Arts and Crafts inlaid bed probably manufactured by the English furniture maker Shapland & Petter. This gorgeous bed had some woodworm needing treated. The lovely inlaid Art Nouveau designs were lifting in places and the woodwork was in need of restoration, the finish being dried and damaged in many areas. The metal components were also rusty and in need of attention. We gave it a full sympathetic restoration and the customers were delighted with their refurbished bed.

Restoration of a beautiful woven rush seat antique Arts & Crafts chair with natural rush. Using pre-twisted seagrass (as opposed to fibre rush) is quite a tricky process but it looks so much better than its fibre counterpart, however, we think for quality antique furniture like this chair it is worth to keep its value and authenticity.

Reupholstery of vintage 1950s armchair and stool with matching cushion. This little armchair was an incredible challenge to do, a very unusual piece, since it had its frame made entirely of metal. This meant that almost all of the upholstery fillings and layers had to be hand stitched, not being possible to use staples or tacks. The chair came to us in a really sorry state, and all of the fillings had to be replaced. We also repolished the legs (the only wooden elements) and reupholstered a little modern stool in the same material, polishing the legs to match those of the armchair. Despite leaving us with very sore fingers, it was an absolute pleasure to restore this cute armchair to its former glory, since it had great sentimental value for its owner.

Reupholstery of sofa and wing chair set in a cool blue fabric. The upholstery on this set was stained and worn out. We gave the fillings a bump up and with the new fabric the set has been given a new lease of life. It’s great to see furniture renewed rather than thrown away! ❤️🛋️❤️
