Well here we go, things aren’t going well at the minute 😴

With a post-op infection I’m not much use to anyone and in a lot of pain. This is just a quick post to say I’ll return once this is sorted 🏥

Nightmare scenario currently but determined it just needs to run its course 🧸

🏥 January Check In 🩺

Hey hey, been a minute! This week I went into hospital for a planned surgery that’s been on my mind for a while now 👀

All gone to plan, everyone’s happy with the results and here’s to moving on in good health 👨🏼‍⚕️ pics 2 and 3 are a before and after for a look at the mindset 🤣 I went in with good spirits and left feeling a bit weirded out at the concept of surgery, bizarre vibes 😵‍💫

I’ve not been online much for a while and will be spending some time over the weekend replying to messages/emails as well as getting some packages out, the last few weeks have been about getting my head around going into hospital so my head’s been elsewhere 😴

I have been cooking yarn behind the scenes though so will be sharing a lot in the next few days once back to normal (fingers crossed) 💖✨

First pic is a new cast on - a Fantastitch shawl, can’t wait to show you more progress as I work through each section 🍊

🌈 RAINBOW REFLECTIONS 2026 🌈

I’m dyeing mini sets that move through the colours of the rainbow this year. Ten individual minis in each set that all fit the theme of the month which is a specific colour.

Some minis will be tonal, some speckled and some variegated - a true exploration of colour and technique.

The first month is PINK 🦄 and the listing is available on my website 💖

So excited to see what folks do with these colourways 🌈✨

💛 Finished Objects of 2025 & HNY 💛

Taking stock of everything that happened in 2025 and I realise the ONLY projects I’ve finished have been yellow themed 🐝

For me yellow is a colour of happiness ✨ I know I’ve loved knitting with those yellow colourways and I remember casting those projects on thinking “I could really do with the lift” and yellow is how I got that 💪🏻

🧜‍♀️ Dystopic Fibre Advent 2026 🌊

Well here it is in all it’s glory. A stunning fade of beachy speckles into sea glass mints, rich aquatic greens into fresh teals, deeper juicy blues into lush dark navy tones at the end 💙

An absolute labour of love, and an emotional one at that, seeing this complete is a testament to the dye techniques I’ve learned over the last five years 😭

Spares are now on my website - I have a very small number so get them while they’re up. I have one 4ply 20g, one DK 20g and a handful of 10g micro 4ply versions 🧶

I’m currently knitting a simple faded shawl with mine, it’s very much a work in progress.

🌊 Ooey Gooey Cowl 🐬

Hello internet world 👋🏻 it’s been months since I posted so here’s just a wee WIP picture to say I’m still alive and still trucking on.

November/December has been a stressful end to the year, week after week I just seemed to get sicker and sicker 🤧 thankfully I have some time off from the day job over the festive period so I’ve taken the last few days to really switch off and (hopefully) recharge 🔋

I am going through my emails individually while I have a rest 📩

I really like this time of year, feels like the vibes are good and people are thinking about the new year and new goals etc etc 🌞

Here is a look at a recent work in progress - the Ooey Gooey Cowl by it’s knit in one skein of sport and two skeins of suri alpaca, I’m LOVING it and hoping to get it finished asap 🏃💨 I haven’t done a kit in aaaages, I could put some contrast colours together for kits 👀

I have a plan for a new project in 2026, I’ve photographed the advents (some spares available soon) and some other fun knitting projects to cast on ✨

A great seasonal colourway, Pumpkin Spiced has been on the menu for years at Dystopic Fibre ✨

I’ll be bringing a few of these to at my trunk show on 20th - and I’ll be listing them on my website at some point soon 🧶

I’ve decided I need to learn a new thing and that thing will be spinning yarn 🧶

I bought some goodies at and am excited to spend some time working out how to use the drop spindle this weekend 🌪️
