Following our preview and winning THE CREATIVE ARTS AWARD at THE PROUD SCOTLAND AWARDS in 2025 - help us take JESSIES on tour in 2026

This new comedy play by Grant F Kidd and James T Smith follows the three drag queens (The Jessies) and the bar staff of the infamous Jessie's Bar in Scotland during key moments in their lives between 1980 and 1995.

Join them as they laugh, cry, reminisce and gossip whilst discovering the true meaning of community and chosen family.

The Creative Arts Award 2025 - WINNER

We are delighted to say that on Saturday evening that Jessies won the Creative Arts Award at The Proud Scotland awards.

You have no idea how immensely proud and happy we are currently especially as the award comes through community nominations .

We would like to thank everyone who shared their stories with us , everyone who bought a ticket to our preview in East Kilbride in February and everyone who nominated us.

Special thanks go to Lisa LeGrove , Dorothy Paul and Andrew Barrie ( Backshop Salon Supplies) for there invaluable support on getting the show on to the stage .

And of course our fellow actors in the Workshop cast

JESSIES very much is a project very close to our hearts and we feel immensely proud and privileged to be able to share this show based on true stories and events from the Scottish LGBT community including Allies . Although JESSIES is a work of fiction every story told and everything you see within the show is based entirely in truth ( and legend ) . This show was and will continue to be very much a love letter to those who came before us and a huge thank you for all they done , we wanted to make sure that there stories would still be told and remembered including those who are no longer able to tell the story themselves .

So whether you are a Big Jessie , A Wee Jessie , An Old Jessie or just a daft Jessie this show is dedicated to the stars who lost there twinkle but made it possible for us to shine .

We are now in the process of preparing the show for a tour in 2026 and hope to be able to share these stories and more with more people soon .
