IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL. …
We have a livery horse here at Easterton who has tested positive with strangles.
Let me start by saying he is well and is showing No systems and was only detected by a test prior to moving yards. So we are grateful for that fact and hope he continues to stay well.
Due to this though, we are putting our livery yard into lockdown which means that No horse will leave or enter the yard until the incubation period is over and No other positive cases arise.
Working very closely with our vets and Under their advice, we are going to continue with lessons at the riding school and have implemented very strict biosecurity measures in order to keep all the horses safe.
RIDING SCHOOL LESSONS-
All lessons will be in the indoor arena. We will have to cancel some lessons due to lack of arena space and those affected will be contacted.
All clients must park in the riding school car park and enter the riding school by walking up drive. The gate from the cafe to the yard will be padlocked.
Please arrive just in time for your lesson. Your horse will be brought to you and then we ask that you leave after your lesson as we are restricting who is walking around the schoolie shed to just staff members.
There will be hand sanitizer and foot baths avail - please use these.
Please ensure you wash all clothes and boots when you get home before returning to the yard or being in contact with any other horse.
Strangles is not harmful to humans but it’s us that passes it onto other horses.
RIDING SCHOOL HELPERS -
All existing helpers are still welcome to come along and we will give instructions when here.
OSCARS CAFE-
Cafe will remain open but clients will not be able to access the riding school through the pathway. You are all welcome to visit the lambs/goats and donkeys but the horses are off limits for the isolation period.
We thank you all in advance for your understanding and cooperation and we hope this will pass as quickly as possible
