Rosanne wasn’t able to attend the opening of her ‘Colour of Memory’ Solo Exhibition as she was away proudly representing Great Britain in Masters Basketball - her other passion alongside painting!

The good news? Rosanne will be joining us in the gallery this Saturday 13th instead from 1 to 3pm. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet the talented artist behind the stunning collection on display, chat about her creative process and learn more about the inspirations behind her work.

Join us for a glass of Prosecco, enjoy the exhibition, and hear first-hand from Rosanne about the stories, memories, and moments that have shaped her paintings and this show – her biggest of 2026.

We look forward to welcoming you

Looking for a statement piece? Today we’re highlighting three of the largest paintings in our Ron Lawson ‘Quiet Lands’ Solo Exhibition.

‘White Sands of South Uist’ is the centrepiece of the exhibition and is a showstopping 100 x 140cm framed piece bringing the open landscapes of the Outer Hebrides right into the room and a feeling of standing on the beach and the tranquility it brings.

Our other two pieces, ‘Barra Red Roof’ and ‘North Uist Croft House’ are sweeping panoramic works: both 40 x 140cm each also create the sense of space, openness and the quiet solitude of the island landscapes.

Each a classic Ron Lawson painting and these three very special pieces and currently available as part of the exhibition - Ron’s only show of 2026. Get in touch for further details or to arrange a closer look – link in bio…

Few painters working in Scotland today are as immediately recognisable as Ron Lawson. His pared-back compositions and restrained palette create a stillness and space that authentically captures the landscape of the Hebrides and Scottish Highlands. It’s a style that took decades to arrive at…
Ron has exhibited with galleries for over 40 years, many of which ran alongside a 34-year career as a graphic artist at DC Thomson in Dundee. In 2010, he left publishing behind to focus on painting full-time as demand for his work continued to grow

Working exclusively in watercolour, Ron developed his now-signature approach – complex and detailed foregrounds set beneath his now signature vast, flat grey skies. The result was a body of work that felt unmistakably his own and led to sell-out exhibitions and international recognition.

At a time when many landscape painters embraced colour and vibrancy, Ron’s stark, atmospheric and quietly powerful compositions set him apart, establishing him as one of Scotland’s most collected and recognisable contemporary artists.
Swipe to find out more about the man behind the paintings.
‘Quiet Lands’ runs at Annan Gallery until 31st May - 30 new original paintings – Ron’s only Solo Exhibition of 2026.
