Few painters working in Scotland today are as immediately recognisable as Ron Lawson. His pared-back compositions and restrained palette create a stillness and space that authentically captures the landscape of the Hebrides and Scottish Highlands. It’s a style that took decades to arrive at…
Ron has exhibited with galleries for over 40 years, many of which ran alongside a 34-year career as a graphic artist at DC Thomson in Dundee. In 2010, he left publishing behind to focus on painting full-time as demand for his work continued to grow

At a time when many landscape painters embraced colour and vibrancy, Ron’s stark, atmospheric and quietly powerful compositions set him apart, establishing him as one of Scotland’s most collected and recognisable contemporary artists.
