**Thursday’s kitty update**
We just had the meeting of furry bums for the very first time & it went way better than I expected & that was all down to Button being such a trusting wee soul.
I went in first & sat on the floor with the kits & then Mick brought Basil right into the room on a short lead. There was a lot of scepticism & rushing away from the big hairy wookie from the kits side & just unbridled nosiness from Basil & the hoovering up of cat treats from the floor. 😂 Eventually with a little coaxing both kitties came a bit closer, Bobbin just hissed at him the whole time with an “I will shred your nose with one swipe if you come any closer boy!” general demeanour. Button on the other hand toddled right on up to Basil’s face a few times, touching nose to nose with him & getting licked in the face repeatedly for her efforts. 😂 She’s way too trusting. Basically, mum’s here & calling him her baby, I’ll be fine. And she was fine!
So it went way better than I had hoped. It’ll be a lot of practising being around each other, before I’d trust Basil off leash near them though. I’ve seen him snap up two bunnies from undergrowth & drop them at my feet, then promptly sit on his butt waiting for praise. The hunting streak is strong in him & needs tempering around the kittens. 🐈⬛ 🐈
