Consumption, Apathy and Alternate Realities artist insights!

Singer-Songwriter David Husz got his start in 2017 with his debut EP 'Woodshedding'. Following its release he spent several years perfecting his style of at times weird, at times sentimental songwriting (mostly weird), and gigging around his hometown of Munich, Germany. Upon receiving the Paolo Nutini Songwriting Scholarship in 2020, he moved to Scotland to study music at UWS. Having spent his first year in the country in lockdown, he has stated his intention to now dive into the Scottish music scene 'like a seagull into a fish and chip shop'.

Consumption, Apathy and Alternate Realities artist insights!

Ember Quine is a the new project from singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, electronic and visual artist Freya Giles. Now based in Glasgow but originally from Fife, Ember Quine’s style is founded upon a love for oddness and an endless curiosity about what can be made and how that can express shared experience.
As a creative working across multiple mediums, the work from the improvisational ‘Vox Machina’ is as much grounded in internal pulse as it is painterly marks on a canvas
‘With an authentic homegrown style both dark and unique, Ember Quine is a Scottish artist with a distinctive sound and is very definitely one to watch, sounding every bit like the beating heart of everything gothic electronic music aspires to be.’ .com

Currently an MA Songwriting student at UWS and winner of the 'MA Creative Work Award' 2021.

Consumption, Apathy and Alternate Realities featured artist insights!

“our friends, the dead.” is a solo project from Glasgow based folkey Ronan Doran. Doran launched debut release, 'spilled wine' on an unsuspecting Nice N Sleazy audience in January 2020, drawing attention from Postcards From The Underground and Scots Whay Hai’s Ali Braithwood.
Described by Small Music Scene as “a remarkable, binding presence”, our friends, the dead.'s horror and science fiction derived hot takes blend jazz, pop and classical influences in a primordial soup of cold fear and existential dread. Think Bill Callahan shaking hands with Sun Kil Moon at Don Van Vliet’s funeral, or Nick Drake with the mother of all hangovers.
