I'm a Scottish artist, originally from South Africa, working predominantly in the traditional medium of oil paint on canvas, linen and aluminium panels. Formally trained in marketing and graphic design, I am largely self-taught and have been painting and drawing since early childhood. My dad, a self-taught artist himself, was the first to introduce me to art. I was born in Zimbabwe and grew up on
a farm in South Africa where I experienced wildlife in a way that has become a large part of my art and inspiration. Influences come from techniques by the Classical Masters, with my art combining a sense of realism, creativity and nuances of natures fragility and beauty. I have also spent many years rehabilitating from a motor vehicle accident I had shortly after leaving high school. A collision with a truck left me with most major bones broken. I have had many operations and in 2020 underwent full hip replacement surgery. Being pain-free has allowed me to return to my passion of painting. I'm proud of the many scars I have and believe they have made me the woman I am today. I work out of her studio in Glasgow and am passionate about supporting wildlife and educating people on the conservation efforts needed to protect natures beauty. A percentage of the proceeds of my wildlife paintings goes directly into funding various conservation programs and charities.
