As I am sorting out my studio and storage place I have realised that I need to make more space for newer work. As such I am going to, periodically, offer a few pieces on 'special offer' sale to expedite my plan.

So - Field and Time - 153x153cm - mixed media on panel is on sale for £3000 (which is rather a large discount)

'Riding my bicycle to work as an art teacher, I passed the same field every day. My attention was drawn to the growth of the crop and the way it seemed to move together as one, while maintaining slight differences in every stalk. The linear tesselation fascinated me as did the natural and organic forces that acted upon the crop.'

If anyone is interested or would like to make an offer then please feel free to DM me or email me [email protected]

So very happy with the Private View for my show at The Slade Centre, Gillingham last night as part of Dorset Art Weeks.

There was work being shown that I had never seen hanging together. Sharing it with my family and friends was a wonderful feeling. There is a new incentive and energy and I am embracing it entirely.

Thank you to everyone involved and to those people with whom I had fascinating conversations. I particularly enjoyed the considerate placement of the throne in the 'drawings' room I had not anticipated such attention.

The show is in the Upper Gallery (a beautiful space) at The Slade Centre in Gillingham, Dorset and is open every day during Dorset Art Weeks except Sunday 2 June

It will be wonderful to see both of these works exhibited at The Slade Centre in my forthcoming show 'Less would render the image null and void' from 25 May and during Dorset Art Weeks (venue 253)

These pieces were inspired by the geometry of a field. There are areas of land around where I used to live in France that had been physically divided into segments (mainly for the growing of vines), which had to involve some form of systematic method of measurement in order to achieve their geometric/mechanical design of layout. This is a method of composing, of planning and organizing which I have used in some of my drawings, where geometry and "systems" play a role.
