This Friday, we’re so excited to be performing at the beautiful Land of Oak & Iron Heritage Centre ✨

Join Urban Chorus for an evening of feel-good acapella – it’s a fantastic opportunity to see us perform live in a stunning setting.

It’s free to attend, so come along, grab a seat, and enjoy a great night of music (and some delicious food too). We’d love to have you there in the audience!

Our live music and food evenings will be making a comeback!

Join us from 6:30pm for a free performance from Urban Chorus, a mixed-voice choir led by Sharon Durant OBE.

They'll be performing rock and pop numbers from the 80s onwards while you enjoy a great evening menu crafted by our head chef. No booking required, but we recommend getting here early to secure your seat! Last food orders will be 7:30pm.

Stranger Things were well and truly in the air this Christmas… 🎄🧇

While everyone else was getting ready for Santa, we were also channelling the Upside Down — Christmas lights, 80s energy and a little bit of festive weirdness thrown in for good measure.

With today’s new episodes dropping and everyone glued to their screens, we couldn’t resist leaning into the Stranger Things hype — festive chaos, big smiles, and a soundtrack that felt very on theme.

We told you we’d been busy… and here’s another little moment from our festive adventures 🎶🎄

On Monday evening we gathered a lovely crowd outside Station East turning the pavement into a real-life singing Christmas card as we belted out Merry Christmas Everyone and shared some proper festive cheer. Smiles, singing, and Christmas vibes all round!

🎶✨ What a week it’s been for Urban Chorus! ✨🎶

We’ve been busier than Santa’s elves — and definitely just as sparkly.

We kicked things off on Sunday morning by bringing a burst of festive cheer to the lovely shoppers at Tynemouth Market. From classic Christmas vibes to feel-good favourites, we absolutely loved soaking up the atmosphere and singing our way into the season! 🎄💫

And guess what? That was only the beginning! We’ve got more performances to share from this wonderfully busy week… but we’ll save those little festive surprises for our next posts. 😉

Ready to make Mondays the best night of your week?

Urban Chorus is back for a brand new term starting Monday 15th September - and we want YOU to join us!

We're a fun, friendly, and welcoming 4-part harmony a ca****la choir led by the incredible Sharon Durant OBE.

Every Monday evening from 7-9pm in central Gateshead, we belt out the best of pop and rock from the 80s on - think karaoke classics with harmonies that will give you goosebumps.

Whether you've sung in choirs before or just love to sing along in the car, you'll fit right in.

No auditions, no pressure - just a great group of people making music together.

📍St Joseph’s Church - Gateshead. Right opposite Gateshead metro and bus station, with plenty of parking nearby too.

In these challenging times, our hearts go out to everyone affected by the current unrest across the North East and the wider UK.

We stand together in solidarity and support, united through the power of music. We are proud to share our rendition of "Keep Holding On" by Avril Lavigne, a song that reminds us all to stay strong and hold on to hope.

Our choir is a safe and inclusive environment for everyone. We believe in the strength of community and the power of standing together. No matter who you are or where you come from, you have a place with us.

Let this be a beacon of hope and unity. Keep holding on ❤️
