Don’t miss our next Riverside Ragas – an evening of ghazals with the incredible Tauseef Akhtar on Friday 22nd May, 7pm at The Glasshouse. Tauseef will present much-loved ghazals by greats including Jagjit Singh and Mehdi Hussain, as well as his own unique compositions.

GemArts teamed up with North East Festival of Languages to bring our Asian Creative Journey workshop to St Cuthbert’s Primary in Kenton. Led by Lily Daniels, artist and GemArts Learning & Participation Manager, pupils explored traditional Indian culture by creating their own Kathputli puppets from Rajasthan. Staff and students share why creative opportunities like this matter, and celebrate the school’s brilliant involvement in wider Festival events and creativity.
