CatStrand:
A film and discussion with the prize-winning film maker and visual artist Sue Thomas and the Women Who Write Collective (Carolyn Yates, Maggie Gordon, Jools Cox, Rose Ardron and Alex Little) followed by a writing workshop.
Tickets Β£5 via CatStrand website or on the door.
Our film captures a feeling of reflection, of harvesting memories and Autumn’s largess. It unstoppers, decants and spills out memory in poetry and prose, inviting you to think about what it is to cook, preserve, nurture and feed others in a rural landscape.
A Buskers production.

Performance Collective Stranraer is looking to commission a membership and communications intern. Application by letter and CV. Closing date for applications is midnight 13th June, with interviews in the week beginning 20th June. PCS exists to nurture, promote and sustain young rural theatre artists from Wigtownshire and Dumfries and Galloway through work with professional theatre makers, artists, and craftspeople in Scotland. All our work is bespoke to the needs of our diverse and eclectic young artist cohort. We work with a variety of performance makers: actors, spoken word artists, writers, directors, musicians, filmmakers. Diversity and inclusivity are vital concepts to the PCS management team and it is only a passion for creating performance that is the driving force behind cohort recruitment – we develop our programmes to create no barriers to race, gender, sexuality, mental health, and physical health difficulties.
Intern COMMISSION FEE: Β£5,016 (approximately five and half days/month) plus expenses.

Science & friendship, the patient journey and the medicalization of making a family.

Tron Theatre, Glasgow
Tues 29 March
The Grain Store. Written by NATAL’YA VOROZHBIT. Translated by SASHA DUGDALE. A special play reading in aid of Ukraine
All box office income will be donated to the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal
Twenty-five actors will take to the Tron stage to read this extraordinary play set in a village in Ukraine in the 1930s. Loyalties become divided as friends and families deal with the consequences of Stalin’s first five year plan – a plan which resulted catastrophically in the deaths through famine of several million people.
Beginning with innocent romance, The Grain Store evolves into a dark, tragic, often weirdly comic and hugely theatrical work of art.
