Frome's Day of The Fool

The day takes place in two phases: the first is the daytime from 2.30pm to 4.30pm. This features a family theatre show entitled The Quest for The Red Herring, which has been delighting audiences throughout it’s entire run of 8 years and counting!

Frome TheatreSpace Workshops - Being, curious enough to go there.

Hello you!

I'm very pleased to announce that the Frome TheatreSpace Workshops are about to start, with an initial three week block.

From 8pm to 10pm on the 2nd, 9th and 16th June.

Do you want to explore life through the brilliant lens of theatre?

Would you like to become more versatile as a performer...? storyteller...? actor...?

Through improvisation, ensemble practice and solo work, we will meet each other in the Play. This work is about discovering our individual and shared plays. How do we play upon each other? What plays on your mind?

I have been performing and facilitating for just over twenty two years in the Theatre Of The Fool style, and in our workshops, the Fool will be at the heart and centre of the process. In this way, we play with taking license to be ... all the ways the fool is for you. For me, it gives creative license to change shape, to be spontaneous and to be authentic. Are you fascinated by what your fool has in store for you and for the world?

This style is also about following curiosity; letting ourselves be led without always knowing what will emerge.

You might want to enter into this purely as self-exploration or to become more flexible in performance. Over time, your intentions might change... all you need for Now is an open mind to say yes and be willing to go beneath the surface of everydayness.

This is a three week block of Thursday evenings, starting on June 2nd. The cost is £40 (£6.66 per hour!) for the entire course, or £15 for single sessions.

I would highly recommend coming to all three if you can, but just don't filter yourself out if you can't.

The evenings (8 to 10pm) will take place at the Steiner Academy, Frome in the Eurythmy rooms.
