Part of Frome Festival 2026

Eliza Carthy will be performing a very special live show with special guest opening artist, Martha Tilston on the final night of Frome Festival 2026!

In the wake of Martin Carthy’s unexpected recent retirement, Eliza has drawn together a community of varied and talented musicians, all of whom have played a role in Martin’s outstanding career.
These artists will share the stage with Eliza, honouring and celebrating Martin’s immense legacy and musical back catalogue.
This evening will present a rolling cast of admirers, colleagues and surprise guests, performing an entirely new set featuring some of Martin’s best loved work from all eras of his career, spanning from his debut to final albums, via Waterson:Carthy and beyond.

Martin Carthy is a legendary ballad singer and guitarist who has influenced generations of artists, including Bob Dylan and Paul Simon, while Eliza has been twice-nominated for the Mercury Music Prize and a multiple-award winner at the BBC Radio Two Folk awards.

In recognition of his illustrious career Martin was recently shortlisted for the 2025 Mercury Prize for his wonderful new solo record Transform Me Then Into A Fish. This album both marks his 84th birthday in May 2025, and offers a full circle moment in his music journey as he revisits material from his very first (eponymous) solo record released in 1965.

With a pure silken voice and lyrics that inspire and captivate, Martha Tilston has developed a successful musical career with a large and loyal following worldwide.

She has played on some of the world’s most prestigious stages and festivals, recorded and released several critically acclaimed albums, gained a nomination for BBC best newcomer, appeared as a guest vocalist for Zero 7, toured internationally and worked with the some of the world’s most inspiring musicians.

The past few years have seen Martha venture in to the world of film making, gaining nominations for best arts film for The Clifftop Sessions and recently releasing her first feature film (with an accompanying Soundtrack Album) – The Tape – which is garnering much praise and excitement.

Glastonbury Festivals' Legendary Indie Disco comes to Frome for one night only!

Baggy Mondays

Friday 26th June

£15 advance (+ standard service charge)

Tickets: https://www.cheeseandgrain.com/events/baggy-mondays

The legendary indie disco club night Baggy Mondays has announced a special one-off show at Frome’s Cheese & Grain on Friday 26 June 2026, on what would’ve been Glastonbury Festival weekend.

Founded in 2002 at London’s iconic Heavenly Social (where it’s the longest-running night), Baggy Mondays quickly became one of the capital’s most celebrated nights, with members of Kasabian and Kings of Leon joining the up-for-it crowds.

Baggy Mondays has since become a Glastonbury Festival institution, packing the Stonebridge Bar in The Park on the Thursday of every festival since 2007 with its riotous, festival-igniting mix of indie, rock and dance classics from the likes of the Stone Roses, Oasis, the Prodigy, Arctic Monkeys, Blur, Fatboy Slim, Pulp and Nirvana. They’ve also DJ’d at Kendal Calling, Green Man, Isle of Wight Festival & Pilton Party.

Now, Baggy Mondays is coming to Frome’s historic Cheese & Grain venue, which has previously hosted legendary Glastonbury warm-up shows by the Foo Fighters, Paul McCarney and CMAT.

Said Chris from Baggy Mondays: “What better place to celebrate Glastonbury’s fallow year than with a night at the Cheese & Grain in gorgeous Frome – we can’t wait to get the party started!”

🚨NEW SHOW ANNOUNCEMENT!🚨
Britpop legends. Psychedelic trailblazers. One of the most distinctive bands ever to emerge from the UK. Kula Shaker come to Frome this September for an exclusive headline show.

Named after a 9th-century Indian saint-poet, Kula Shaker have always occupied their own corner of rock music. Emerging during Britpop, they fused British psychedelia, Indian mysticism and soaring melodies into a sound unlike any of their peers.

Their debut album K entered the UK charts at No. 1, powered by hits including Tattva, Govinda and Hush, and established the band as one of the era’s most distinctive acts. Further successes followed with Peasants, Pigs & Astronauts before the group’s premature split at the height of their powers.

Reuniting in the 2000s, Kula Shaker gradually rebuilt momentum, culminating in the return of the original line-up and a creative renaissance. Recent albums Natural Magick and their forthcoming eighth studio release have earned widespread acclaim, blending psychedelic rock, folk, cinematic storytelling and spiritual themes with renewed energy.

Thirty years on, Kula Shaker remain a rare phenomenon: a band driven by imagination, adventure and the belief that music can be more than entertainment, it can be transformative.
