When Bruce Swedien recorded Michael Jackson’s vocals for the best-selling album of all time, he reached for the Shure SM7.

Think of it as a legendary US-made SM57, but souped-up with a larger diaphragm and an improved voice coil.
While both share the DNA of the historic Shure Unidyne III capsule, the SM7 was engineered with a larger housing—creating a wider, flatter frequency response with a rich, extended low-end.

Introduced in the 1950s, this rare Soviet condenser is celebrated for its rich low-end and smooth high-frequency lift. It shares clear sonic DNA with vintage Neumanns, and is often cited as Russia’s answer to the U47.

Great for vocals, cabs, drums, and acoustic instruments.
