I’m so grateful for the 16 years I spent at Formby School of Dancing. It gave me so much more than a love of performing. It helped me build confidence, discipline and teamwork, while developing skills through dance, singing and performance that I still use every day🫶🏼 Memorable experiences like Southport Pantomime, the Formby pantomimes and being a part of Joseph and his Technicolour Dreamcoat twice have shaped who I am, and the confidence I gained has carried through into university, interviews and when working at Disney World Florida 🐭✨ I’ll always have a love for performing and musicals hence why I spend my life at the theatre now 🎭🪩

My time at Formby School of Dancing gave me the best foundation going into this career. Throughout the years dancing I gained so much knowledge in technique, confidence, teamwork and friendship. I attended Formby School of Dancing for 16 years before leaving to go to university. At the heart of FSD is family, and that's something that stays with you long after you leave.
Since moving on to study for a Media degree, I've realised just how much my time at FSD prepared me for the opportunities I've had. I can't thank everyone at FSD enough for the wealth of experience they gave me. From learning about production and building confidence in presentations to developing the stage presence that I still rely on today, every lesson has helped shape who I am.
Since leaving, I've been part of the production team for the Coca-Cola Conference, working backstage with a headset and calling performers to the stage—something I watched Ali, Hayley and Tracey do for so many years. It was a surreal moment to step into a role that they inspired me to pursue.
I've also produced social media content for Hits Radio's Cash for Kids Christmas campaign and recently recorded an advert for Bauer Media promoting Edge Hill University. I genuinely couldn't have done either of these without the drama training, confidence and encouragement I received from Ali and Tracey.
At the end of August, I'll be volunteering at the Special Olympics, supporting their social media team and assisting the athletes. Once again, I know I wouldn't have had the confidence to take on this opportunity without everything I learned at FSD—from meeting new people to believing in my own abilities.
Thank you for everything you have given me, and for everything you continue to give to so many others. Formby School of Dancing will always be my family, and I will always be proud to be part of it.
