✨ "What does Panto mean to you?" ✨

Tom Richmond, a seasoned Panto Dame in Dundee and Forfar for 11 years, messaged us to let us know about the magic behind the makeup! In addition to performing, Tom also writes and directs the Forfar Panto.

Here is what Tom had to say.
"I just love all the nonsense, I love the stupid jokes, I love the over the top acting, the faces, costumes, everything. When you put all the hair and make-up on it changes you and people act differently towards you. Being on stage for a pantomime is amazing. You can’t really describe the buzz you get from the audience."

Tom’s passion for the "nonsense" and that incredible audience "buzz" is what makes Scottish panto so special.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of long-time Nova member, Jennifer Wilton
Jenny was a dedicated part of our community since she was 13, having previously been a member of Forfar Musical Society and PAPS.
Her presence at rehearsals and future shows will be missed by all who knew her.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to Jenny’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult time.

A celebration of Jennifer's life will take place at 12p.m., on Wednesday, May 13th, 2026, at Strathmore Funeral Directors, 4 Roberts Street, Forfar where all family and friends are respectfully invited. There will be a private committal service. Family flowers only, please, but if desired, donations in lieu for Child Bereavement Scotland will be gratefully received, at the Service Rooms.
