Well we didn't see that one coming! What a year!

I was very much hoping that things might have returned to some kind of normality by now and we could have a repeat of last years wonderful gathering, but alas with winter coming and restrictions still in place that's not going to be possible.

And so I have been thinking about how to run a "hands off" exhibition and have come up with the idea of an instillation.
A projected exhibiting of works, to be beamed onto a white wall somewhere around the village, set back from the road so as to not cause a distraction to road users, with minimal intrusion for neighbors but also a place that allows onlookers to stop and watch in their own time.
Is there such a wall? I am keen to hear your suggestions.

In order to pull this off we are looking for:

~ A large white / light colored wall that can be viewed from a foot path or pedestrianized walkway, with a safe stopping point that won't cause irritation to neighboring properties is important. This wall needs to normally be in the shadows at night (no street lights shining on it etc) so the projected images will show up.
~ A decent projector. (suggestions welcome)
~ A plug socket / site for the projector) opposite the wall to be projected onto.
~ And lastly but by no means least, participants! As we will not be restricted by the confines of a venue there is currently no limit to the number of artists, nor the number of paintings!
~ High resolution images are a must. Low resolution images wont hold enough detail when projected.

My intention is to provide all artist details, where paintings for sale can be purchased and a link to any personal web pages via the FRowArtShow website which is currently underway.
A QR code that will be made available and posted around the village and here on Facebook.

Fees and dates are yet to be confirmed.
At this stage I am keen to know how much call there is this year.

This year has raised SO many issue and topics, both seen and unforeseen with many opportunity to dive deep during lockdown. Where has your art taken you?

We’re back!

It’s been just 8 months since our first show at Venue on the Green but it may as well have been 8 years.
2020 so far has been none stop change and we’re still not half way through.

With the current climate still in flux it is unknown where or when the next show will be, but please be assured IT WILL HAPPEN.

Now more than ever the need to witness and support each other is crucial as we create the society we want to live in.

From environmental catastrophes, the pandemic, social distancing, isolation and financial upheaval to political unrest, cultural truths and revelations, it seems the foundations on which we all have become accustomed, have shifted.

For artists and many previously dormant artists turning to the canvas as a means to express or escape life's pressure cooker offers an opportunity to make some sense of it all, a bubble of truth in a rapidly changing world.

We want to see YOUR art!
What has your experience been?
Peace? Grief? Relief? Frustration?

The art being created now truly is a sign of the times in which we are living.

The FRow Art Show intention is to create a space in which we can witness and be witnessed, to share the journey, inspire and support.

To this end ALL suggestions for this years show are welcome.
It may be that we have to create a virtual gallery or we may be in a position to hire a venue, as we did last year, and which was a great success with over 180 visitors coming through the door.

Another idea is to space the exhibition out around the village so there is minimal chance of creating a crowd.
If this is the way forward I’d like to hear from businesses willing to exhibit works.

The theme for this years show is “2020 Visioning”.
