Regal Cinema Fordingbridge

Regal Cinema Fordingbridge Fordingbridge's very own big screen. Non-profit, community cinema with a variety of films every week! The Regal Cinema opened in 1933, Fordingbridge. We hope

It was built in a classic Art Deco style, and had 290 seats. It thrived for many years, but social changes led to its closure in 1965. Since then it operated as a pottery, but that business also closed in 2012. It has been purchased by Corintech - a local electronics Company who wish to reopen it as a 30 seat cinema and bar, and incorporate apartments for their staff.

New date for British indie film Rose of Nevada!

From Cornish filmmaker Mark Jenkin who created the BAFTA-award-winning film Bait. As is his uniquely analogue style, Jenkins has shot Rose of Nevada on a hand-cranked 16mm camera, hand-processed the film and added all sound in post production.

30 years ago a Cornish fishing boat was lost at sea with all its hands. When it mysteriously reappears those who remember take it as a sign - the boat must go out to sea again in order to restore the luck of the devastated village. Shot on a 16mm hand-cranked camera, the film stars George MacKay (1917) and Callum Turner.

“Another really bold and distinct statement from Jenkin”
The Guardian ⭐⭐⭐⭐

‘A Cornish modern classic. Eerie, heart-breaking, wonderful’
Mark Kermode
