It’s the beginning of the last weekend of our exhibition ‘still out of CONtext’ at and we want to tell you more about the last of the artists: Joanne Barrett.
We learned so much from her artwork: about autistic eating habits, about ceramics, about synaesthesia… Make sure you come and see her art series ‘Autistica Majolica’! 🥦🍏🥬

About Joanne: Joanne Barrett is an autistic artist working to relate her sen­so­ry understanding. She experiences colour, texture and form primarily and meaning is a secondary conscious process. She works with drawing, painting, print, ceramics and textiles. She mixes these media and moves between them to explore the world and develop a connection that is based on touch and memory. She is a Bethlem artist and a member of East London Textile Arts and Crafting with Pride at the Crafts Council. She has exhibited nationally. IG: .frankartist

About Michał: Michał Kamil Piotrowski is a mixed-me­dia poet, poetry teacher, curator, founder of the curatorial project artBLAB, and co-founder of the Experimental Writing School (.school). Michał lives in Folkes­tone, UK. His practice engages with in­ter­active and participatory techniques in poetry and often includes found text. Recently, he’s been making poetic sculp­tures and installations. His first book, the interactive text ‘The Cursory Remix’ (2021, Contraband Books) has been co-written by Google Translate. His second experimental book ‘The Idiotlect Dicktionary’ was published by Veer Books in 2023. His TEDx talk ‘The Power of Experimentation: Poetry for the 21st Century’ is worth watching.

Come see the beautiful and science-heavy cyanotypes by our artist Mellissa Monsoon! They form part of our ’still out of CONtext’ exhibition at , open until Sunday from 10am to 5pm. Mellissa is an exceptionally fearless artist and we are deligthted to have her on board! 🔬🧬🦠

About Mellissa: Mellissa Monsoon is a British artist whose work explores the relationships between nature and the self. Past works have involved using casts of her own body and the bac­teria that live on it to visualise the invisible world on our skin. She graduated in 2016 from the MA Art and Science course at Central Saint Martins and has since undertaken major commissions for the Eden Project and the BBC. In 2016, Mellissa was commissioned by the BBC to create a large scale microbial sculpture which formed a central theme of the documentary ‘Michael Mosley versus the Superbugs’, first shown on BBC4 in May 2017 and now shown internationally. Mellissa has extensive experience working collaboratively with scientists and leads a range of participatory workshops and projects exploring art and science. Monsoon is regularly supported by Arts Council England exploring creative health, stigma in health­care and revolutionary science research. IG:

Ready to experience an archaeological exhibition from the 30th century, otherwise known as ‘A Palimpsest, Crown and Carrion’ by Kate Clements? It’s part of our ’still out of CONtext’ exhibition and tomorrow (Thursday) or on Sunday you can speak to Kate about her brilliant piece at from 10am to 5pm. You can also ask her about:

Edgar builds paintings from colours, gestures, and layers of perception. For him, there’s a link between glitch and his art practice: they both ask the same questions – how do we look, what do we really see, what can’t we see, what do we look away from. Edgar believes art begins where a painting becomes a gateway to a different way of looking, to opening the eyes and the consciousness.👁️

Aleksandra Pieńkosz jest artystką intermedialną i poetką, graficzką i projektantką książek oraz nauczycielką akademicką projektowania publikacji. Obecnie mieszka w Barcelonie i uczestniczy w projektach o równości cyfrowej, cyberbezpieczeństwie i cybersiostrzeństwie.

Aleksandra ukuła termin “poezja interfejsu”, aby opisać swoją twórczość. Jej sztuka koncentruje się na odnajdywaniu ludzkiego pierwiastka w nowych mediach i technologiach cyfrowych, łącząc istniejące treści cyfrowe, tekst oraz eksperymentalnie wykorzystywane media społecznościowe (Instagram) jako swoje główne medium.

Aleksandra Pieńkosz is an intermedia artist and poet, graphic and editorial designer, and an academic teacher of book design. Currently, she lives in Barcelona and works on digital equity, cybersecurity, and cybersisterhood projects.

Aleksandra coined the term ‘interface poetry’ to describe her artistic method. Her practice is focused on finding human touch (both figuratively and literally) within new media and digital technologies.
