Cracking Show Last Night,The Moray Suite with Colin Campbell and Friends, At The Tin Hut! Colin, kindly composed a new piece of music especially for the evening. The lucky winner of the raffle to "Name That Tune" was THS show regular Hilary. The tune is to be called "Hilary's Reel". A big thank you to everyone who turned out to join us for a wonderful show.

Here's a wee tune currently nameless and awaiting a raffle prize winner. At our gig on Saturday 23rd September at the Tin Hut in Gartly you can buy a raffle ticket and, if you win this prize, forever immortalise yourself or a member of your family when you name the tune. I'll even write it out for you!

A big thank you to all those who attended last night's concert at the Institute. It was a fantastic night!

Memories Of The Sea is a follow up to the story told in the song Caul Iron: the Deskford quine whose husband went to war never to return is now an old lady reflecting on her life as she realises waves are the memories of the sea. But is the husband really dead? If you were there last night, the (almost) true story of what happened will have nae doot left you all shook up! Uh Huh Huh!

A trail of straw from a van leading to the back door of the Fochabers Institute... can only mean one of two things:
1/ Sam the hall keeper has taken to keeping goats again.
2/ The Moray Suite is back in town.

THE organising team behind Speyfest will host a special concert in December to premier a local composer’s music project celebrating all things Moray.

We're doing a piece on the Dipple Barn Dance as part of the Moray Suite at our up-coming concert. Many thanks to Ian Brown for showing me round the Barn in question, brought back a lot of memories! For those of you that are too young or from outside the area, the Dipple Barn Dance ran from 1995 to 2006. The proceeds went to help fund the building of the new Inchberry Hall, so many thanks to Ian and family for that. Check out the actual price list from 2006; £2.50 for a Smirnoff Ice, seems a bit steep Broon. Got lots of great stories from Ian too; if only some of them were repeatable........
