How is it a week ago already!?
For those of you who are craving some Rock the Castle news and for everyone asking; I’m going to be a storyteller for a sec…
CADW (our friends who own the castle) gave us permission to host Rock the Castle at Flint Castle until this year. This doesn’t mean they won’t let us continue to use it, it just means I need to demonstrate Rock the Castle to them as the mega community event it is. That is hurdle number 1
No, Rock the Castle can’t be held anywhere else - we all love it in our castle don’t we!
It costs around £30k to put on Rock the Castle. That is hurdle number 2 (we take approx £11k on ticket sales and i don’t want to up the prices)
So you now see what the challenges are but…these aren’t impossible tasks I just need to have some time to develop a business plan and get some sponsors on board.
We also desperately need ‘Rock Rangers’ (volunteers) who will turn up and help with stuff like littler picking, helping to direct traffic, filling up the portaloos with loo roll, assisting with the background stuff, social media, photography, videography etc
I truly believe that Rock the Castle can come back as something seriously special (I have big plans) so stick with me Rock the Castle folk - I won’t let you guys down.
Glasto does a year off to let the land rest - Rock the Castle is doing the same. Here’s to 2028!
