What is your sporting background?
I played football from a young age up until 2023, then I made the transition to CrossFit.
Why CrossFit?
The variety, no two days are the same, this is what I love. You may be strong with certain movements or modalities, but it will expose you in others, there is no hiding place. CrossFit keeps you humble and hungry, it’s You vs You!
Favourite CrossFit hero wod?
Either Cindy or Nate, anything with bodyweight and gymnastics!
What do you enjoy most about coaching?
The fulfilment you get from coaching is hard to put into words. It’s so rewarding seeing people progress across all abilities and reach their full potential and achieve things that never thought would have been possible, weather it’s giving a certain cue for a skill or just improving someone’s mindset and confidence for daily life.
Whats the one myth about CrossFit you’d love to bust?
There are so many! But one of the most common ones I hear a lot is “You have to be fit to do that”.
People talk themselves out of it before they have even tried it. Everything is completely adaptable and scalable and I mean everything!
Whats your favourite and least favourite movement in CrossFit?
Favourite movement - Bar muscle ups
Least favourite - Anything that involves a sandbag
Best advice you’d give someone starting CrossFit?
Get up, get out and get at it…
Don’t talk yourself out of it before you’ve even started, the hardest part for a lot people is stepping through the door so your not alone, the coaches will guide you and the members will look after you.
