New for the Autumn Term - Sculpture Club - Mondays 6-8pm. https://go.allevents.in/ivwoo

£30 per session or 6 for the price of 5

Learn how to sculpt with Becky. Hares, mythical creatures, simple shapes - Becky will guide you through her techniques for sculpting.

Suitable for beginners and more experienced mud slingers.
Six sessions are usually sufficient to make a hare.

No, we will never use imported bisque products for pottery painting. I’ll eat my own pot making fingers before I do that. Don’t get me started!.

There is something wonderful about slip decorated pots. It gives them a beautiful country cottage charm.

With 64 slip colours in house we’ve got you coloured.

Stuck for something to make?.

One of our potters gifted some homegrown figs so I made a super easy but super delicious and super calorific fig tart.

Ingredients:
2.5-3 lb clay + 2 lb for a clay batt
1lb of clay for baking beans

Method:
1. Throw a clay batt or use a batt mate
2. Throw a wide cylinder to 26.5cm walls 4.5cm
3. Flare the top out slightly
4. Relax and roll some baking beans

Allows for 10% shrinkage
10-12mm base if you want a foot ring otherwise 5mm.

Biscuit fire to 1000C

Glaze as you wish and fire to 1220C but what about…

Deep olive / moss green to contrast the pink figs.
OR
A luxurious deep aubergine colour to pick up the darker fig centres.
OR
A classic Mayco birch for a more rustic feel
OR…
OMG 😬

For the tart
1. Whop some sweet pastry in the dish
2. Blind bake for 12mins with your baking beans at 180C
2. Melt 2 tubs of mascarpone and 5 table spoons of honey on the hob
3. Pour it into the case
4. Add some halved figs
5. Whop back in the oven for 30 mins at 160
