Two hours of family creativity - sharing skills, colour, context and conversations - it went so fast.

Thanks again to artists and Holly for such a brilliant Sunday afternoon of Port to Port printmaking - the excitement, creative concentration and energy in the room was such a joy to experience.

Thanks to everyone who came to have a go, gain new skills and ideas, build on existing knowledge, and have a lot of fun together.

We celebrated. Thank you to everyone who came.
Making Port and the Port to Port Showcase is now open.
Such a lovely evening, great art, great people, great conversation and connections. A real coming together.

Thanks to Felixstowe Deputy Mayor David Rowe for officially opening this month long exhibition.
It was great to welcome Clare Palmier, Director of The Art Station who,together with artist Sophie Gillier , turned the idea of Port to Port into the amazing two year project resulting in extraordinary community collaboration and creativity resulting in such a rich and exciting traveling art installation.

Our local partners Level Two Youth Project Landguard Fort Official felixstowe_museum were all represented and it was great to celebrate together.

Congratulations to everyone involved, especially . It was great to celebrate with you all.

The exhibition runs until September 26th and is open daily 11am - 4pm.

The artist is the building! So great to welcome for install week.

One of the great joys of Hamilton MAS is that we get to work with such amazing people, this one is a particularly joyous and smiley one!

We’ve been working together with Sophie in Felixstowe since February this year, working with our local partners Landguard Fort Official felixstowe_museum and Level Two Youth Project - creative community collaboration at its best for project PORT TO PORT.

Project Port to Port’s rich, colourful,textured community journey is nearing its final port of call, Felixstowe.

Arriving with us, here Hamilton MAS on September 4th, showcasing the project with a month long exhibition by artist and ending its journey with Port to Port, a large-scale sail textile installation appearing Landguard Fort Official and felixstowe_museum during Heritage Open Days September 19th &20th.

Last year Giller - seen here on board Excelsior LT472, The Excelsior Trust, one of the last surviving Lowestoft fishing smacks, and one of our National Historic Fleet - spent timing researching and learning heritage crafts of sail, rope making, boat carving and shared these experiences with workshop participants across all three Suffolk Ports.

Port to Port a two year partnership project commissioned by The Art Station celebrates the historic maritime communities of Lowestoft, Ipswich and Felixstowe with an evolving and traveling large scale collaborative art installation.

The Art Station partnered with First Light Lowestoft in Lowestoft, SPILL Festival in Ipswich and Hamilton MAS in Felixstowe. Sophie Giller, co working with Holly Schofield, spent time engaging with schools, community and volunteer groups in all three Suffolk port towns. Creative workshops were enjoyed, conversations shared and collaborative pieces made contributing to the creation of a large scale installation of sail shaped patchworks by Giller.

The Port to Port large scale art installation travel to Felixstowe Museum Susan Cole and Landguard Fort Landguard Fort Official during Heritage Open Days on September 19th and 20th, with free entry into both venues. So come and enjoy this extraordinary artwork in the extraordinary landscape of Landguard Trust with extraordinary views of Port of Felixstowe.

and staff, children and families of 7 Felixstowe Primary Schools came together to celebrate Sir David Attenborough’s 100 birthday by learning and thinking about his life as a naturalist and champion of life on our planet.

Birthday cards were made, messages written, songs sung, young naturalists inspired. Pledges and commitments to look after our world and each other as best we can.

Thanks to our wonderful Mayor Corrine Franklin for officially opening the exhibition and spending time talking with all the children.

Thanks to Debbie Bartlett for this wonderful collaboration.

Congratulations to Colneis Junior School, Fairfield Infant School, Felix Primary School, Grange Community Primary School, Kingsfleet Primary School, Langer Primary Academy and Trimley St. Mary Primary School.

In celebration of this shared enthusiasm an exhibition of all the children’s work is on show this weekend 11am - 4pm.

Happy International Workers Day.
Power packs. Tools. Generators. Artists.
Back in the UK we’ve been thinking about energy, ideas generation, inspiration and sustaining practice despite and inspite of daily challenges of life. Life and death challenges, literally for some, more than others, in times of war, in times of disease.

How to keep working, how to value the work we do, believe in its value, usefulness and worth. Share that belief. Creating things, thoughts, bringing people together, to provoke, to challenge, to empathize and respond, to connect with our shared humanity, to love and honour our experiences.

Researching the idea of generating creative purpose under extreme circumstances director .graham was invited by dear friend Maria to meet with fellow Ukrainian artists .kuzyura and in their respective studios in Lviv and Kyiv in early April.

These artists, these women, all powerhouses working on a cultural frontline, deeply conscious of the role of their work in communicating nationally and internationally. Universal connection and global reach. From the individual to societal.

Seeing work, sharing ideas, crossing language, crossing cultures, a mix, an exchange, challenging joys. Meaningful conversations that continue to inspire and generate ideas and energy.
