and staff, children and families of 7 Felixstowe Primary Schools came together to celebrate Sir David Attenborough’s 100 birthday by learning and thinking about his life as a naturalist and champion of life on our planet.

Birthday cards were made, messages written, songs sung, young naturalists inspired. Pledges and commitments to look after our world and each other as best we can.

Thanks to our wonderful Mayor Corrine Franklin for officially opening the exhibition and spending time talking with all the children.

Thanks to Debbie Bartlett for this wonderful collaboration.

Congratulations to Colneis Junior School, Fairfield Infant School, Felix Primary School, Grange Community Primary School, Kingsfleet Primary School, Langer Primary Academy and Trimley St. Mary Primary School.

In celebration of this shared enthusiasm an exhibition of all the children’s work is on show this weekend 11am - 4pm.

Happy International Workers Day.
Power packs. Tools. Generators. Artists.
Back in the UK we’ve been thinking about energy, ideas generation, inspiration and sustaining practice despite and inspite of daily challenges of life. Life and death challenges, literally for some, more than others, in times of war, in times of disease.

How to keep working, how to value the work we do, believe in its value, usefulness and worth. Share that belief. Creating things, thoughts, bringing people together, to provoke, to challenge, to empathize and respond, to connect with our shared humanity, to love and honour our experiences.

Researching the idea of generating creative purpose under extreme circumstances director .graham was invited by dear friend Maria to meet with fellow Ukrainian artists .kuzyura and in their respective studios in Lviv and Kyiv in early April.

These artists, these women, all powerhouses working on a cultural frontline, deeply conscious of the role of their work in communicating nationally and internationally. Universal connection and global reach. From the individual to societal.

Seeing work, sharing ideas, crossing language, crossing cultures, a mix, an exchange, challenging joys. Meaningful conversations that continue to inspire and generate ideas and energy.

RESOURCE Residency Showcase - huge thanks to all who came throughout the 4 month (thanks to a ‘flu extension) research time and to celebrate on the last evening. Deep time and practice, shelves, boxes, planchest, tool box, print and digital archive delving. Also using .graham’s personal and family history to resource new thinking and making out of old. A livening. Studio reclamation. New conversations. Collaborations with the artist’s dead. Collaborations with the living. Love, empathy and connections. An extraordinarily productive and inspiring time. Joyful and challenging. New thoughts and things to come.

To be shared gently and in an unrushed way in the next few days and weeks.

It takes a community of family, friends, artists, strangers, people, place, space and time to encourage and support and inspire this kind of creative practice.

Keeping the kept. Keeping on in the face of it all. Loving. Loving it. Life. Affirming. Resourced.

Inside. We’ve been rolling through January at a pace - we can’t believe we’re at the end of week three of 2026.

Finance Friday has morphed into Fix-it Friday getting a studio pod rolling again. And other maintenance jobs on the ever rolling list. Satisfying success, thanks and .graham for the great team work. Flexible creative space back moving about and changing things up often.

Wondering about wheels - when did humans invent motion technology? Answers in comments please.

We’ve got very excited about the sounds of a ratchet. Clever cogs.

Loving what we do - so darn lucky - to sit peacefully in our window, look up at the sea, as I write this.

This began today.

Taking time out and in our director .graham begins a three month research residency ReSOURCE.

A reclamation of studio practice, an examination and reexamination of the wheres, what’s, whens and whyfors of a sculptural and socially engaged practice formed over three decades.

Re, about and again.
Source, origins and processes.
Combined, the stock and stuff of making things and thoughts.
Accumulation of the past in the present for new connections, conversations and work to come.

Visitors always welcome. It’s been joyously non stop today.
