I had a wonderful day finally making a collection of new collagraph monoprints. ✨

Turns out it’s quite hard to make your own art when you work full time as an art teacher/ technician! 👩‍🏫 👩‍🔧 🧑‍🎨

I had a lovely day experimenting with simple collagraph using tape and recycled mountboard, creating texture in the ink with combs, sandpaper and cotton wool. I also used perspex drypoint plates layered with folded and crumpled tape which was a new technique that I loved.

I have made the collection especially for the Love of Print’ fair on Saturday 2nd May at Faversham Assembly Rooms. Come down and support myself and a bunch of amazing printmakers selling our wares! 💫

Had a wonderful Monoprinting session last night at my evening printmaking class at ✨

All participants made beautiful work exploring subtractive and additive methods, adding texture, contact printing with botanicals, using stencils, mixing colours and creating multi - layered prints.

I didn’t get a photo of everyone’s work but here are some examples. The graphic botanical Monoprint series were made by and the painterly landscape scene was by Sam.

We will be doing Linocut next week! 👀

I wanted to showcase the amazing work of emerging artist who attends my printmaking evening class on Tuesday evenings.

Abi is obsessed with 60s and 70s fashion and music. Her work is inspired by iconic photographs of pop culture icons from that era.

Using a photographic silkscreen made from a halftone image of Patty Boyd, Abi has been making a series of mono screen prints using acrylic paint, collage and chine collee techniques. It’s inspiring to watch!

Abi’s work will be for sale soon so watch out for her at print fairs and exhibitions in Kent and the south east. 👀

Went on a lovely photo walk with and her new in Faversham today. Was so nice to slow down, look closely and discover things I had never noticed before. Lovely to meet some new creative people and explore street photography in a low pressure setting.

Had a great evening at my printmaking class at this week where we explored collagraph. ✨

Using both intaglio and relief inking techniques the results were beautifully varied, textured and layered.

I love this technique for how you can turn humble recycled materials into refined and unique prints.

Here’s my for 2025 ✨

💖 It’s been great fun looking back on everything I have done as an artist this year in 2025, what a whirlwind !

🛜 In January I worked with Max Boxer to scan all my paintings and setup my website and online print shop selling beautiful Giclee prints of my artwork - the beginning of making my art practice financially sustainable.

👷🏻‍♀️In my role as Print Technician at EKC Canterbury College I have learnt so much and experimented with a much of new printmaking processes (embossing, paper making, kitchen litho, mono screen printing, monotype and collagraph).

👩🏻‍🎨 I held my first in person workshops in collage, printmaking and markmaking at , and .

🎥 I developed my own private teaching including with to develop live art webinars and pre recorded online courses.

👯 I developed a wonderful new creative collaboration with , painting together on the marshes, messing about with cyanotype, hosting our first joint pop up shop in June and doing a shoot and article for Pressing Matters magazine (Issue 32) about my artistic practice - we made the cover!

🎬 In the summer I took part in filming for a reality TV art show including making bespoke series of Margate prints for a a print fair in Dreamland - the TV show will be aired on the BBC in 2026!

👩‍🏫 In the Autumn I started teaching the evening printmaking course at EKC Canterbury College and most recently I started as a part time Lecturer in Art & Design, which is very exciting.

I can’t wait to see what next year brings, I just hope my aging body can cope with my my neurodivergent mind throws at it 🤣🧠🌈💖✨

Finally got around to trying out some figurative collagraphs using simple recycled materials, sand, tape and glue - following some tests I had done earlier this winter ✨

The plate looked good once I painted on a layer of shellac to seal it - however I hadn’t wait for all the glue to dry so I lost detail in the face during the printing process. Doh!

My real aim is to develop this technique to create semi abstract landscape prints, so watch this space! 👀
