Dear all🙏🏻
Having come across the incredible feat that Nirmal Purja MBE is about to embark upon, I just had to share with you his goal, and why, as a Nepali, I am incredibly proud of him.
Raising funds for both Children in need in Nepal and Mindfulness Charity, while hoping to break a Guinness World Record in the process, I was immediately inspired by Nirmal Purja MBE when I read his story…
In less than 30 days he will be commencing "Project Possible - 14/7", where he will fly to Kathmandu to begin his jaw-dropping and incredible task to climb all of the 14 highest mountains in the world.
This dedicated commitment will see Nirmal Purja strive to scale mountains that are all above 8000m in height within the space of just 7 months.
Releasing a Facebook post on Tuesday 12th, Nirmal expressed how he is currently experiencing a very common emotion before tackling such a seemingly impossible task: the sense that there is a brick wall stopping him from feeling that it is achievable. Despite this helplessness, which is all too prevalent amongst those reaching for the stars, he is still determined and says, quite rightly, that giving up isn’t an option.
And so, I want to say that you can do it, Nirmal bhai. We are all here supporting you. Even though it may be from afar, we will be watching out for updates and looking forward to sharing your journey with you through social media. And we will be celebrating when you scale that final 14th peak.
Upon the successful climb, Nirmal will break the current Guinness World Record, which stands at 7 years, 11 months and 14 days.
But he’s doing it for a far more noble cause: To raise awareness of mental health, to support orphanages and to disabled and children in need in Nepal.
His mission is to help Nepal’s most impoverished children by raising enough funds through the Project Possible - 14/7 to provide relevant aids to orphanages to implement vital health care and education within a safeguarded environment.
He has also witnessed mental distress and mental health issues in his friends and colleagues, both during and after their time in the military service. Promoting the importance of positive mental attitude for healthy wellbeing is, therefore, also a cause very close to his heart.
I 100% stand by the idea that anything is possible and would love to encourage all of my friends to see what he'll be doing on his once in a lifetime adventure: https://youtu.be/gyXy-Ku6uig
Nirmal bhai currently needs to raise GBP 75,000 to cover the costs for the second phase of his climb mission: K2, Nanga Parbat and Broad Peak in Pakistan. Here’s the link to visit to support him 🙌🏽🙏 https://uk.gofundme.com/147-power-of-possible
Goodluck Nirmal Bhai🙏🏻🙏🏻
