New eaterie announced for vacant Falkirk retail unit.

Plans have been accepted today, announcing an "all-new, all-British eaterie' in Falkirk Town Centre.

Burn-n-Bread promises to be a Bastion of the best British bite - the humble toastie!

Taking inspiration from football cuisine, local politicians and an astronomic increase in 'protest-tourism' that Falkirk has enjoyed - the team spearheading this venture are keen to portray a proud British theme.

When researching and visiting the new venture website, our business editor was stunned to find a video of Winston Churchill speaking in his famous and patriotic tone, "We'll serve them in the shop, they'll eat them on the benches."

The menu isn't available yet but we have been told by a reliable source that there will definitely be gammon.

Rumours that have surfaced on Tik-Tok, that a sandwich-shop wedding package may be available at the venue which has sparked controversy across the Internet and minority groups - management have not confirmed or denied these claims.

Some threatened to protest at the new restaurant - a move welcomed by the management.

One local said, "If I don't know about it, how am I supposed to have an opinion on it - or ask questions? I don't have an answer" shortly before they disintegrated. A view shared by many.

We'll have more on this story as it develops.

[ BREAKING NEWS ]
Executives to axe central Scotland Refinery.

Protesters have amassed in Grangemouth today, following news that the local oil refinery is to be repurposed into a drug rehabilitation centre, under new public ownership.

"We've moved the Job Centre, emptied the dockyard and sold-off most of the available land...", one executive told us. Another said, "Having a refinery here was such a waste, the people can't afford the fuel, drugs or products we make here."

The local council have failed to make comment, but locals welcome the move.

Charlie Dee, an 18 year old living in the small town, appears to welcome the move saying, "the beepee has more gates than most locals have teeth, I think that having an easier number to count will help people with their mental health."

Towards the end of the protest there was some upset and police were forced to take action, throwing street va**um to bait the protesters away from the pickets.

[ MARINER CENTRE UPDATE ]

Camelon in world-leading role for wildlife research.

Falkirk will soon be at the forefront of marine preservation as the aging Mariner Centre is repurposed as a marine research and breeding facility.

The Mariner Centre that has been enjoyed by many Bairns over several generations as a fitness and health centre, will now offer new hope in the fight against habitat loss, climate change and the associated effects on native marine species.

The Falkirk Unit for Climate, Koniology and Observation of Flora and Fauna will not open to the public until early 2025 but the first visitors can expect to see an oasis of life from the viewing deck. Scientists, students and research teams will be working in the new facility to study the effects of pollutants and habitat change on a range of native animals.

Local leaders hope this will bring more highly-skilled labour and innovation to the area and the project has been linked to at least two Scottish universities. One spokesperson said, "This is a great opportunity for Falkirk to become a massive player on the global stage for climate action."

Not everyone is pleased with the developments however, one local woman, who refused to be named, said, "I wash my kids there, my mum washed us there and her mum washed her there! My uncle was conceived in the changing room, this is a huge loss to Camelon and the families in it."
Another said, "Nicola's politics, Camelon gets the sharp end of the stick, AGAIN."

We can't wait to see this transformation.
Aside from the local controversy, we expect this will be a great addition to Falkirk's growing tourist trail. We believe biodiversity and the protection of native species are important and can't wait to see the work begin.

Special thanks to Falkirk Unit for Climate, Koniology, Observation of Flora and Fauna.

WE ARE THE SHEEPLE.

Falkirk Stadium to become home to 150 Black Faced Scottish sheep as 'We are the Sheeple' initiative comes into fruition.

Falkirk Stadium, operated by Falkirk Council have been looking at a multitude of ways to bring much needed income to the failing sports-entertainment venue while becoming one of the world's first carbon neutral clubs.

The £6.1 million stadium project was built to allow Falkirk Football Club to play at Premiership level, but has now outlasted it's purpose as the failing club flounder in lower leagues.

Organisers, promoters and community leaders have bid for Falkirk's ill-fated stadium to become a 'local hot-spot' for cultural, social and music events, but widespread criticism of the events and the associated environmental impact has forced the marketing team and top-brass to think again....

"The locals have left us no option...", venue promoter's anguish following 'killer complaints'.

"We've tried everything from big name music acts such as Elton John and The Killers, motoring events, and even a car boot sale to increase revenue but all have been met with censure from disgruntled locals.
[The locals]... have left us no option following complaints of excessive noise, road congestion and litter associated with the events we host here, but we're resilient and have a new plan!"

Supporter's groups and environmentalists have hailed the initiative as a massive step forward in lowering the club's carbon footprint and financial outgoings.
Sean Shearer, the newest addition to the grounds staff is excited to see "sheep replace lawn-mowers" and the introduction of "a new homegrown kit for the players."
It's hoped that this will see Falkirk FC turn from blue to green as the club take more environmental responsibility over the upcoming season.

Falkirk are hoping for a successful campaign in The Scottish Cup this season, you can have your name displayed on a sheep for £30 on match days, other sponsorship opportunities are also open now!
