OPPORTUNITIES FOR EXTRAS IN PERIOD DRAMA SET IN SCOTTISH BORDERS

Interested in acting? Fancy being part of a major Apple TV show that’s coming to film in the local area this month? Then read on.........

A casting company is in the process of searching for local people to come on board as supporting artists, or ‘extras’ in an exciting set of scenes that are being filmed in the Scottish borders. The show is a Period Drama set in the 19th Century, and extras will attend a costume fitting and get dressed up in period clothing.
We would love to invite members of your community to get involved.
The Agency Casting Collective will manage bookings and communication for anyone who is interested in taking part. As per the flyer, they can register here for free:

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

“We are casting a ‘high-society ball in 19th Century New York’ so I’m looking for women & men aged 16+ to take part on weekdays from approx. 17th – 26th August
We love REAL FAMILIES! We also love people with natural, non-dyed hair, natural eyebrows, older people with grey/silver hair and young people with long hair (particularly men with a couple of inches of growth.

Previous acting experience or interest in performing arts is not required – I specialise in working with people who haven’t been on screen before, so my process is designed to be supportive and positive, and I often work closely with community groups, youth clubs, and sports clubs to make sure projects are accessible to everyone.

PAY £££
This is paid work in compliance with rates set by the union PACT/Equity. Filming days are very long at around 12hrs, but supporting artists are paid well. Your basic day rate will be approx £130. The extras agency will take a standard agency commission of 16% as their payment for managing communication and payroll.
