🌟 Volunteer Spotlight – Meet Rhonda! ✂️🧵

, we’re celebrating the incredible people who give their time, skills, experience and energy to ReTweed.

Meet Rhonda, one of our dedicated volunteers and our Course Support Volunteer 🙌

This year marks 10 years of Rhonda volunteering with ReTweed — hip hip hooray! 🎉❤️

In Rhonda’s words:
“I volunteer because I discovered ReTweed just before I retired. It was exactly what I was looking for in that I can help tach a craft I enjoy, guiding students to success and hopefully making a difference in their lives.

Also the friendships and the meeting of people in all areas of ReTweed.

Seeing the look on the students faces when they realise they can achieve their goal.”

Thank you Rhonda, for 10 years of sharing your skills, encouragement, patience, kindness and creativity with the ReTweed community.

❤️ What do you enjoy most about volunteering with ReTweed? ✂️🧵

From January – May 2026, our amazing volunteers contributed an incredible 495 hours of volunteering 🎉

Here’s what some of them had to say about being part of ReTweed:

As part of , we’re celebrating the incredible people who give their time, skills and energy to ReTweed.

Meet Julie's, one of our amazing volunteers 🙌

In Julie’s words:

"I’ve always done some sort of volunteering, even when I was working full time. I feel that if you can give something back to the community, go for it — you never know when you might need help yourself.

With ReTweed, I love being part of my ReTweed family and seeing how ReTweed changes so many lives. I’ve made so many friendships — with people still at ReTweed and others who’ve moved on but I still keep in touch with.

I don’t have a favourite part — I love being at ReTweed on a Wednesday (usually turning the air blue! 😂), but I also love going out into the community and seeing the delight on people’s faces when they’ve made something."

A huge thank you to Julie, and to all our volunteers (past & present) for your time, laughter, skills, encouragement and support you bring to ReTweed. You help make our community what it is, we simply couldn't do it without you ❤️

Lovingly handmade by our current Main Course students, each piece represents more than just a practical accessory. Through learning new skills, upcycling fabric that would otherwise go to waste, and creating together, our students are building confidence and strengthening community connections ♻️❤️
