One Small Barking Dog A media charity supporting and developing new and emerging young filmmaking talent. OSBD started over 30 years ago and has been a charity since 2021.

In spring 2025 osbd will close its doors and it will cease to function as a charity and organisation. OSBD began its life in the mid 1990s in the context of a youth project in Birmingham UK making short viral films using analogue technology! In 2001 OSBD became a charity after many years of developing its work and a whole new era began with “ the dog” as it had become known helping develop and cre

ate many youth based resources around the world both on VHS/DVD and very early on as downloads on line: we have made films as far afield as the Ukraine /Peru , the USA and Glasgow! Over the years we have supported and enabled dozens of young emerging filmmakers and helped create numerous films that speak into our world. Over the past few years we have been actively developing OSBD again with an emphasis on developing young emerging filmmaking talent and making films that matter. iTF ( in the frame), sited on the osbd website is an online free space with resources and a film community. We are making films , working alongside new talent , about to launch a film development fund and determined as a small charity to do all we can with limited resources.Whilst we still work nationally / internationally , we are now based in Devon Uk.

It is with sadness that we are announcing OSBD will cease to function as a charity in April this year. It is 30 years since OSBD began its fledgling journey and 24 years since it became a charity. Discussions between the founders and the charities trustees last year led to a sense that this was the right time to let OSBD go.

Huge thanks to everyone who has been on this journey with us over the years.
