CALL OUT: DEVON COMMUNITY AND MENTAL HEALTH CHARITIES
Awkward Pigeon Theatre Company is developing a new dark comedy, Just Be, written by Teignmouth playwright Alex King and highly commended by the National Theatre.
Set in a mindfulness class, the play explores themes including mental health, climate anxiety, disability, isolation, class, race and community.
The play uses humour to open up honest conversations about the world we’re living in.
Following a successful scratch performance at Exeter Phoenix, we are now planning the next stage of development and a small-scale Devon tour.
We’re looking to connect with local organisations, charities and community groups whose work relates to any of the following:
* mental health and wellbeing
* climate anxiety / environmental action
* community support and connection
We’d love to explore ways to collaborate, which could include:
•helping raise awareness of your charity on our social media channels and signposting audiences to your organisation during post-show discussion
* sharing information about our performances with your community
* informal post-show discussions with the audience, helping shape conversations around the themes of the play
* discounted tickets for your members
If this sounds like something your organisation might be interested in, or if you know a group who you think might be interested, please get in touch.
Send us a message or email us at [email protected]
We are excited to hear from you and look forward to creating something meaningful together
