Hi Everyone,
I wanted to just give you all a bit of information as to how Over the Rainbow is currently responding to the COVID-19 outbreak. I know many people are worried and lots of very large events are being cancelled/postponed, which leaves many people questioning what will happen over the coming weeks/months. We certainly don’t want to disappoint any children but we also have to be cautious to protect the vulnerable/elderly people in our families & communities.
I am currently still taking bookings, but I am also keeping a close eye on what the official advice is, I will continue to do so and update you with any changes.
Firstly; I just want to highlight some of my health & safety practices that I always have in place for those of you that have an upcoming party/event, and I am taking the recommended precautions to minimise any risks:
✅ Children’s faces must be clean and dry before sitting in the face painting chair.
✅ Children presenting with any illness including, colds, runny noses, will not be painted.
✅ I kindly request that NO ONE other than myself touches any of the face painting paints or equipment.
✅ I use a 3 pot water system to clean brushes between customers. One with a professional mild anti bacterial brush bath, and the other two clean water to rinse.
✅ I use Professional high grade paint with anti bacterial properties.
✅ I only use one sponge per face.
✅ I keep my own hands clean and use anti bacterial gel regularly between customers.
✅ I use ‘single use’ lipstick applicators and never double dip.
✅ My kit is thoroughly cleaned after each event. Brushes washed with professional brush soap, sponges and flannels are cleaned on a hot wash with Dettol Anti Bacterial wash.
✅ I will also be taking extra precautions as advised by NHS by washing my hands even more regularly, on arrival, before I begin painting, before I leave and as and when needed.
I would be grateful if all my clients can make their party guests aware, that if their child is presenting with any cold/flu like symptoms that they WILL NOT painted and I WILL NOT be making any exceptions. Hopefully everyone will understand that this is for the health and protection of everyone including our loved ones at home.
It would also be helpful if I can be situated close to hand washing facilities when at your event.
To reassure you, this is how I will be handling bookings and cancellations:
CANCELLATIONS:
As you will know from the terms and conditions when hiring me, the booking fee is non refundable.
HOWEVER: As this is a very unique situation, if you decide you want to cancel, postpone or move your party to a later date, I will be offering customers a credit note for the booking fee paid, which can be used within the next 12 months against another party.
Obviously by doing this I will be taking a big financial loss, but I feel it’s the fairest way for all of us and ultimately everyone’s health and safety comes first.

✅ If you are thinking about postponing your party/event, please get in touch ASAP to let me know your plans.
