Clearance Exeter police and hospital players are having a further sale on Saturday 25th October from 2pm, Brittania Storage, Exeter, little mermaid costumes, Peter pan, wedding dresses, bridesmaids dresses, cocktail dresses, waistcoats, lots of beautiful material, pom poms, feather boas, masks and much more,, some items fill a bag for £10, all profits to local charities. A message from the chairperson:

We have called an EGM this evening because due to a number of reasons, the committee are proposing that the society is no longer viable, and therefore believe it should be disbanded. Since the covid pandemic, we have really struggled to find a suitable venue to hold regular performances. Due to the Northcott's takeover of the Barnfield, it is no longer feasible for us to hire it due to the cost increase. We have explored many other venue options but have found that there were varying reasons why they weren't suitable. We have also found that we have a lower number of members who can fully commit to the society, and to a rehearsal and performance schedule. Due to personal reasons and less time to commit, I have chosen to step down as Chair. Most of the committee are up for re-election this year and if they choose not to stand again, we would have a lot of open positions on the committee which would need to be filled and I worry that we would struggle to do so.

As a committee, we are devastated to be proposing this, but we are struggling to see another way forward. We have tried with a couple of smaller performances but they have not been as successful as we'd hoped. With rehearsal space hire and having to pay to store our costumes, we have a lot of outgoing costs and are concerned that we will struggle to make the money back. Trying to get the society back on its feet after covid has been an ongoing struggle and we feel we have run out of options and ideas.

With disbanding the society, we would like to catalogue all of our costumes and offer them to local societies for a small contribution. We are also happy to offer the opportunity for previous members to have one of their individual costumes from a show, for a donation. Any remaining costumes will be disposed of as sustainably as possible. Any remaining funds in the bank will be donated to charities, nominated by members of the society. Thank you for your support over the years, and we are sorry that this is the decision we have had to come to.

We will keep this page updated with our movements until the last assets are dealt with and the society is disbanded.

We are holding an EGM on Sunday 24th March from 6:30pm at Trefoil Lodge, EX4 1JP. We will be using this meeting to discuss the future of the society and hope to see as many faces there as possible ☺️

Hello everyone, hope you're all well! We have booked a Murder Mystery Evening on Friday 12th April at 7pm, at Heavitree Social Club; and we are looking for people who would like to perform in the event or help out otherwise! You will need to be available from 5:30 onwards if possible to help setup and prep for the evening ☺️ There will also be a few rehearsals/meet ups leading up to make sure everyone knows what to expect and is confident with what they're doing ☺️

Please can you comment below if you are available and definitely want to be involved, and how you would like to be involved, so we can start planning ☺️
