At Shotgun Theatre, we strive to create innovative and boundary-breaking musical theatre productions, focusing on actors who sing. We are committed to providing a range of opportunities for our members in all aspects of theatre, encouraging each individual to push their creative and personal boundaries and producing work with the potential to excel in, and go beyond, the student theatre scene. We

are proud to have a decade of prestigious shows to our name and are unbelievably excited for what the future of our society holds. This year, we have proudly announced that our Term 2 show will be held at the Northcott Theatre. Alongside this, we hold more intimate and dynamic Term 1 and Term 3 productions that tend to have smaller cast sizes yet still pack a punch. Another exciting prospect is that of our Original Musical which is written and created solely by students. Many of our Original Musicals have been successfully toured to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. As a committee, inclusivity is essential, striving to create the most welcoming and approachable atmosphere for all our members. With this in mind, twice a year, we open our show decisions to a members’ vote. We are also highly committed to our society’s social aspect, hosting socials and events for theatre-lovers throughout the year, such as our bi-termly Open Mic Cabaret Evenings. These events are a perfect way to get involved and meet new people, whether or not you choose to perform or simply to enjoy a night of great music and infectious vibes. We cannot wait to meet you and welcome you to Theatre at Exeter!

FRINGE SUBMISSIONS NOW OPEN!

We are looking to hopefully take another original piece of musical theatre to the Edinburgh Fringe festival again this August. For more information on how to propose a show then click on the link in our bio for all the information you may need!

Shotgun and Footlights bring you our joint ’48 hour musical’! a musical put on in, as you guessed it, 48 hours! This will take place on the 17th March in Kay House. Opening for creative team members will be later on this week with interviews happening between 7th-10th December and cast auditons in early january, alongside the footlights workshop on the 13th December providing more information on what the show entails!
