*** THIS THURSDAY Surrey Jive’s Beginner Plus and Intermediate Plus 5-Week Course (GREAT NEW MOVES) ***

Please note this course is only run once a year. Classes are held at:
St Joseph’s Church, St Margaret Drive, Epsom, Surrey, KT18 7JQ.

BEGINNERS PLUS (7.30 pm – 8.30 pm) – Please note the EARLIER start time.
This course is for dancers who already know how to jive using 4-count rhythm, but want a refresher, or alternatively wish to challenge themselves further, by dancing to faster music. We will also be teaching variations to the core dance moves, along with one new move per week.

INTERMEDIATE PLUS (8.45 pm – 10.00 pm) – Please note the EARLIER start time.
This course is suitable for dancers at both Intermediate and Advanced level and who are competent at both 6 and 8 count rhythms. Each week you will learn 2 new moves and one variation to a core dance move.

*** 2 WEEKS to GO until Surrey Jive celebrates the 250th Anniversary of American Independence at Ruby’s ***

TICKETS SELLING WELL - It's going to be another fantastic night at Ruby's!

Saturday 4th July (7.30 pm – 11.15 pm) at Ashtead Peace Memorial Hall, Woodfield Lane, Ashtead, Surrey, KT21 2BE.

It’s party time at Ruby’s H***y Tonk! This is going to be a very special Ruby’s, as we hold our very first NEW Country evening. With the dance hall transformed into a western bar, DJ Shakin Shep will be on the decks playing some of the biggest country jivers and line dances, from Brooks & Dunn to The Mavericks, Luke Combs and many more…. If you have never listened to new country music, you will be amazed how close it is to the Rock n’ Roll sound we know and love.

So why not dig out your jeans and Stetson and come and join the party. If dressing up is not for you, that’s fine, it’s your company that’s important. With a large sprung dance floor, licenced saloon and a warm friendly greeting (we are known for our southern hospitality) you will feel right at home.

AMERICAN FOOD will be served at an additional cost between 7.30 pm – 8.30 pm.

The hall is situated close to the M25, and it has a large free corral for your horses and pickups after 6.00 pm.

Yes, The Casinos really are back at Ruby’s. The guys sold out last year BEFORE the doors were open! So please, don’t miss out on what will be a night to remember. Book your tickets early…..

We cannot overstate how good these guys really are. They ooze class from the moment they step on stage. With a ‘who’s who’ lineup that includes the awe-inspiring Cody Lee on piano, the extremely talented John O’Malley on guitar, solid JJ King on bass and last but by no means least, the high-energy performer that is Todd Knapp on drums. These guys know how to mix it up.

In between sets, Shakin Shep (Surrey Jive’s resident DJ) will be playing from his huge collection of ‘Red Hot and Blue’ floor fillers that include RnB, Rock n’ Roll, Rockabilly and Jump Jive.

Our dances are well attended, and you will find a warm and friendly atmosphere to greet you. Ashtead Peace Memorial Hall features a large sprung dance floor, licensed bar and large free car park. The hall is situated close to the M25.

This month we have a Hawaiian Theme for our Summer Party so, please feel free to come in your loud Hawaiian Shirts, Grass Skirts and Coconuts and let us fill the room with bright colours! Whilst we encourage a Hawaiian Theme, it is by no means mandatory. If dressing up is not for you, please don’t worry it is your company that matters, and we guarantee you will have a lovely evening.

**** SATURDAY 20th JUNE 11 am (1950's set) & 2 pm (1940's set) ****

Surrey Jive's dance troupe 'The Jive Squadron' will be performing two sets at:

Chartwell House (The Home of Winston Churchill), Chartwell National Trust, Mapleton Road, Westerham, Kent, TN16 1PS.

Why not take a picnic and make the most of the fantastic weather in stunning surroundings. Surrey Jive will be playing music from the 1940's and 1950's and there will be opportunities to dance throughout the day.
