This is part 1 of a pair of 2 themed paintings Titled war and peace i have been working on , large paintings like these take quite a bit of time but I find them easier to work on in some aspects than the small paintings.

This particular marine painting has been on the painting rack for months , I managed to put a few finishing touches to it over the weekend . Its a large painting and took some time , glad to finish it finally.

Its been a while since I posted ,i have been very busy and haven't had much time to pick up the brush, after getting back to it here is one of 2 still life's I have finished .
These flowers are past there best but they dont always have to be in a vase to be of interest.
Titled " The Faded Roses "

Im not sure if its a coincidence but I started this quite large painting a while ago , with after sadly losing our dog Jess only yesterday, I appreciate this picture now that its finished and the theme even more.

This one is a master study of one of my fav old landscape painters and Master Peder Monsted , I have finally got round to finishing this after 6 months of a bit of work here and there .
Its turned out ok not as good as the original but good enough for me to hang on my wall. Its a large painting and the biggest landscape i have painted to date, large paintings are a lot of work and its easy to lose interest with such a time consuming painting, this was annoying me being unfinished but glad its done.
I love so many of Monsteds paintings and in this one the morning light and shade and the beech trees . Monsted was a master at all aspects of landscape and in particular his trees .
