We recently worked on the Stronger Voices project with Spectra London where we created a three minute animation to help communicate research findings in an emotive, informative, and impactful way.

Spectra is a not-for-profit organisation that delivers free, peer-led health and wellbeing services across London with more than 30 years experience of supporting local communities. The Stronger Voices project explores transgender people’s experiences of healthcare, housing and livelihoods across England, Scotland and Wales.

HidraMed Solutions Ltd. x Millstream Productions 🎬

HidraWear is the world’s first and only Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS) specific wound dressing system and is transforming the lives of people who are using it.

The team at HidraMed Solutions Ltd approached us to create a video that would promote the benefits of their product and the life changing impact the products are having on their users.

The aim was to show HS patients that they are not alone and that there is a product designed specifically for them. To show this we captured an authentic and emotional testimonial with Amy who is a user of the product.

Testimonial films can help build relationships with potential customers because video allows us to connect with people on a personal level. We can see the speaker's body language and hear their tone compared to a written quote and there's something truly authentic about a client being on camera and willing to endorse your product or service.

September saw us out and about in the local community at a range of business and education events.

One of these events was the Solent Careers Hub at the Mountbatten Centre which saw over 1,000 attendees come through the doors.

In the hope of inspiring young people who are thinking of working in the creative industry, Dan and Ben were talking to students about all things filmmaking. Some students got involved in the interactive element of our stand where we showed them around the filming equipment and they had the opportunity to practice with a camera.

It was also great to speak with schools, colleges and training providers about what we offer young people (link below )including Ark Charter Academy, Portsmouth Youth Hub, City of Portsmouth College, Fareham Academy, Mayville High School Southsea, The King's Trust, and The Harbour School.

Have you every thought about using animation to translate research findings into an accessible and engaging medium?

This was a project we worked on in collaboration with Spectra London where they wanted to create an animation to help communicate research findings in an emotive, informative and impactful way for their Stronger Voices project.

During the character design stage, we went through several rounds of development to ensure the characters reflected the diversity of the trans community in the UK. We also developed a visual style that echoed the handcrafted feel and brand colours of the wider research, while giving the animation its own distinctive identity.
