Funk It Up Dance Groups We have a number of Streetdance classes catered for beginners to improvers from ages 2 - Adults. Knowledge is power and that’s what we’ve got!!!

Funk It Up Dance Groups are a Street and social dance based school in Ely, Cambridgeshire and Kings Lynn and have a number of classes catered for beginners to improvers from ages 2- Adults. We practise all styles of Streetdance such as Lockin, Poppin, Bboying /Bgirling (Breakdance), Hip Hop, Waackin, House and Krumping. We work on all of the above foundations, drills and techniques and wrap each c

lass up with some fun choreography combining all elements and adding our own touch to it. We pride ourselves on educating our participants in a correct, safe and controlled manner. We bring many guest teachers who are top of the game in to the school to share their knowledge, experiences and skills with us. Some Guest teachers have included the best crews on the UK scene such as Plague, Prototype, Flawless, Monsters Crew and Boadicea, we will always support anyone who shares our passion. The classes have a fun and inviting atmosphere. We encourage individuality, humble attitudes and the chance to express you as a person and dancer and become fire on the dance floor. As well as dance technique in street and social dances we also teach other important aspects such as musicality, freestyle, performance, and battle/competition techniques and work on flexibility, strength and body conditioning. The school offers the chance to perform, compete, and take part in workshops and work with many talented dancers. Our aim is to produce talented dancers, with sound knowledge and understanding of Streetdance, offer accessible and affordable classes for all ages and abilities, boost confidence, offer an avenue for serious dancers, who would like to become professional, a place for children and adults to meet new friends and connections, have fun and assist towards a healthy lifestyle. The most recent competition the school took part in dancers came home with 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. All teachers are fully qualified, have up to date first aid certificates and CRB checked. A small but mighty team. It's just the beginning for these lot. First time coming together as a team. I'm so proud of them for getting out of their comfort zones and going for it!

Team: 2nd Place

Solos: 5 / 6 placed in the finals (2nd, 3rd, 5th, 7th, 7th)

Duos : 3 / 3 placed in the finals (3rd, 5th, 6th)

Placements aren't the focus. Growth, fun and just having the opportunity to dance is the main thing for us.

A work in progress - They fly the nest but are always family. These two dancers with DuzZ are a couple of FuNK It Ups / SUSPECTS Crus OG students. We found a one hour slot to meet up and just dance together this week and it was needed first time we mamaged to this year! Always so many jokes and reminiscing of good times to be had during these sessions. Here's to more in 2026!
