We’re looking for local makers and independent businesses to join us at Elmore Estate for our Christmas Market on Sunday 6th December.

We already have some wonderful makers joining us, and we’d love to welcome a few more. From delicate handmade crafts and candles to seasonal florals and thoughtful gifts, we’d love to hear from Gloucestershire’s talented makers and welcome you to the estate to be part of the occasion.

Our wild swimming sessions began on Saturday, and we had such a wonderful reception. It was so lovely to welcome so many of you all onto the estate and into the rewilding land and lake as we embrace the changing season.

We’re so excited to welcome more of you over the coming months, so have opened up a new Friday morning session too… let us know in the comments if you’d like regular Friday sessions!

As autumn settles across the estate, the days grow shorter, the air slightly cooler and the landscape begins to change around us.

Our Longhorn cattle are here to remind us all to slow down, look after ourselves and to those around you, as we make this transition into a the new season 🍂

As the season shifts, there’s something quite wonderful about settling into the colder months. Slower mornings, cooler air and the colours of autumn beginning to peek through.

Join us for a bracing wild swim, before stepping into our warming wood-fired sauna. A chance to pause and rest, whether you join us midweek on a Wednesday or ease into the weekend with a Saturday session.

As you may have seen from our stories…

Calving season has been flourishing across our rewilding estate, and we’re delighted to announce that we’ve welcomed twelve rather young additions to our growing Longhorn herd here at Elmore.

They’re all doing brilliantly, staying close to their mums and settling into life among the herd. Watching these new arrivals take their first steps has been a real delight, and one of our rangers’ highlights of the summer months.

But now, we need your help.

Every Longhorn born this year is given a name beginning with the letter A. And before you mention it, yes, we absolutely have an Anselm, alongside an Athena, Astrid, Angus and Apollo. So, what should we call the rest?

Summer has brought the rewilding land to life. 🌿🌿

The meadows are alive with butterflies drifting from flower to flower, while moths emerge as
dusk settles over the landscape. Wherever you walk, there’s something to notice.

So far this July, we’ve recorded 18 species of butterflies and moths across the estate.

Alongside familiar summer visitors such as Meadow Browns, Marbled Whites and Painted
Ladies, we’ve also spotted some real highlights.
The Clouded Yellow, a striking migratory butterfly, journeys to the UK from mainland
Europe and isn’t seen here every year. We’ve also been delighted to see the Jersey Tiger
Moth, with its bold black-and-white stripes and flashes of bright orange, and the
remarkable Hummingbird Hawk-moth, hovering over flowers with rapid wingbeats as it
feeds, often mistaken for a tiny hummingbird.

Every butterfly and moth tells a story about the landscape around it. Seeing such a wonderful
variety is a reminder that when habitats are given the chance to recover, wildlife responds.

Sometimes the best thing you can do is stop scrolling and take a moment.

Turn the volume up and let June on a rewilding estate do the rest.

Listen to birdsong, the gentle hum of insects in the long grass and the wind moving through the trees. Watch butterflies drifting from flower to flower, a heron waiting patiently at the water’s edge, or perhaps catch a glimpse of a deer, standing quietly behind the reeds.

Nature doesn’t ask for your attention. It’s simply there, waiting to be noticed.
