Well that was a whirlwind!

We're currently in a full-on food coma, so what better time to write a quick re-cap of the CRAZINESS that was December?

started the month with a pair of dates at Chiswick Park, entertaining workers over their lunch break. The team at created a real festive atmosphere for their colleagues featuring curling lanes and mince pies.

We continued our residency with three more dates in December, and also made public appearances at Kingston-on-Thames Christmas market as well as (a first for us) Oxford Christmas market — another one hosted by Keston Events. We always feel VERY Christmassy after these!

We made another debut this month — our first performance at , this time with our 2-piece Oomparty line-up PLUS one of our amazing German hostesses: the outlandishly brilliant Gürda Loins (aka vocalist and cabaret host ).

But it wasn't just a month for Oomparty action — we also had a lovely date with our duo featuring Alex (guitar/vocals) and Luke (percussion) at the Arc West London lab space.

In probably the most wholesome gig The Oomparty Band have ever done, we also made an appearance at The Rose Theatre in Kingston alongside a smorgasbord of local choirs. The brief was "get everyone standing up in their seats singing and dancing" and we met it with aplomb. Photo below with Mary Bourne () and one of her fantastic choirs.

Rounding off 2024 were three brilliant corporate Christmas parties (one of them was actually "APRÈS-SKI THEMED" i.e. no Santa hats or Mariah) for , Totemic and .io . You guys know how to celebrate!

November usually offers a chance to catch our breath after a hectic Oktoberfest season, before we launch fully into the festive period. This year was no different, with a smattering of lovely Autumnal weddings, public gigs and early Christmas cheers to keep us busy.

The Oomparty Band made two appearances at this month, treating revellers to our unique brand of party-starting oompah music. If you haven't had a chance to check out this venue yet, be sure to keep an eye on our socials for when we're playing next. The food, drinks and overall vibe is brilliant — not to mention the quality live music available every day.

The band also made appearances at no less than three shopping centres around the country in November. Pictured is The Liberty Centre (Romford) where we entertained early Christmas shoppers alongside The Nutcracker Band, thanks to organisers . The shopping centre requested we don elf costumes for the occasion, and we were happy to oblige! You never know what is going to happen when you let loose six naughty brass-playing elves at the back of a Christmas parade...

Shoppers at Weston Favell (Northampton) and Lion Walk (Colchester) have also been treated to a healthy dose of Christmas oompah this season — they have found it makes the experience a lot more enjoyable!

One of our November wedding highlights was Rosa and Rob's special day at Sandon Manor, Buntingford. The band were a surprise addition to the day and went down an absolute storm before handing over to DJ Goodchild, one of our phenomenal in-house DJs.

Finally, we started our traditional run of gigs at Kingston-on-Thames Christmas Market, run by Keston Events. 2024 marks our fifth year performing at the market, and we now have a dedicated crowd of local fans who turn out in their hundreds whenever we make an appearance. Expect to hear all the classics — Slade... Wizzard... Basshunter...??!

And with that, the 2024 Oktoberfest season comes to an end!

We started the month with two more appearances at : another outing for our new Clubland Brass show up in Manchester, and an Oktoberfest stage show in Birmingham.

We took our Oktoberfest Experience™ show to in Stroud for a sell-out crowd. Our brilliant German Hostess Frida Schnippl got the crowd going with our Bavarian-themed party games — the people of Stroud certainly know how to party (even if their yodelling left a bit to be desired)!

Then we took the show on the road to Wales, with an afternoon gig at in association with the team from , followed by a massive show at , Bridgend. Two brilliant warehouse venues, and we can't wait to be back next year.

Another roaming show at and a Hostess spot at Haven Burnham-on-Sea rounded out the first weekend of October.

The following weekend we began a three-week residency with , who organise some of the highest-capacity Oktoberfests in the UK. We started the run with a weekend at Hills Meadow, Reading, performing alongside . We also made our yearly appearance at Jimmy's Farm (off the TV!) alongside some TV stars...

The middle weekend of October saw us heading to Delapré Abbey, before rounding off the run on the final weekend in Richmond Park, London (plus a great outing of our two-piece lineup for a private event in Cheshire).

That rounds off Oktoberfest 2024 — in total that's 57 performances from The Oomparty Band, plus another 24 from The Party Pilots. Some more facts and figures for the numerically inclined:

🌭 861 bratwursts eaten

🍺 72 pints of beer handed out to our game-winning audience members

🎁 16 pairs of fluffy handcuffs won during 'pass the parcel' — including one by the wife of a police officer who promised to put them to good use

We're off to hibernate for a week before next season's planning begins in earnest... time to defrost Mariah!🎅
