Today is World Art Day!! 🥳

Today I was reminded of a beautiful, wonderful truth… Art doesn’t just arrive fully formed… it begins with playfulness and curiosity.

Amy Lou came in for headshots today — and left having taken her first steps behind the camera too. Learning, experimenting, playing… and absolutely loving it!

This is what the Boaty spirit is all about! Because creativity isn’t reserved for a precious few — it’s a gift found in each of us, that we unwrap together.

Art lives in the doing. In the trying, the failing, the resilience to start again.

In the courage to try something new.
And today… We saw exactly that! 💙

Today is World Art Day…
and I’ve found myself thinking about where art goes once it leaves your hands.

Over the past few months, a number of my paintings have found homes —
each one helping to raise funds for The Boaty Theatre Company.
There’s something quietly profound in that.

That something created in stillness, in colour, in instinct…
can go on to support something so alive — people, community, creativity, wellbeing.

Some pieces are still on display at New Place.
Still breathing. Still waiting. Still part of the space.

And if something speaks to you, you can sponsor a painting and have your name placed alongside it — a small mark, a lasting connection, a way of saying I was part of this too.

Every piece supports the work we do —
holding space for creativity, for expression, for people who need somewhere to go and something to belong to.

Art doesn’t end on the canvas.
It carries forward.💙

Our New Place finally felt like a home this week! We have absolutely loved having this gang of young people in, we had a jam, we had a laugh, we talked about silly stuff and serious stuff and made plans for the future….congratulations on a wonderful performance!

This week, New Place felt like home!

This wonderful bunch of young people filled the space with laughter and creative energy and christened the place as a performance space.

Well done to the cast of The Animals on two brilliant and heartfelt performances. You smashed it!

As we prepare to kick off our Young Theatre Makers National Theatre Connections journey, we thought we would bring back all the posters!

Our home performances will be in our new space in chester, on the 9th and 10th April, seats are very limited due to it being a small space.

We will be heading to Shakespeare North Playhouse on the 21st! We will be taking over the Cockpit Theatre! Exciting and scary because its so big! Join us there if you can, we would love to see some friendly faces!!

This year we will round off our connections journey at the Crewe Lyceum on the 26th April!!

Today is World Theatre Day. 🎭🥳

And for us, theatre has never just been about the stage… It’s always been about people.

About walking into a room, not quite sure if you belong —
and leaving knowing that you absolutely do!

About finding your voice when life has tried to quiet it, and feeling you have the right to take up space… sometimes for the very first time.

At The Boaty Theatre Company, we don’t just make theatre.
We build spaces where stories are shared, risks are taken,
and people are held — properly, honestly, and without judgement.

From first-time performers finding their feet to bold new works stepping out into the world… From community rooms to sellout tours…

We’ve grown this together.

So this World Theatre Day, we'd like to say THANK YOU to everyone who has been on this journey with us.

Through the wins and the hard days… Through the celebrations and the fundraisers.
Through the toughest moments that have asked so much of us.

This is what we do.
This is who we are.

We’re still here.
Still making theatre that challenges and provokes debate.
